Well, it looks like the British people as a whole were not fooled by this dyed in the wool leftist wacko and voted accordingly. As for not being an anti-Semite, many British Jews have quite a different opinion than Haaretz from Israel. Corby was surrounded by anti-Semites in Labour and comments by activists like Ken Livingstone among others showed this to be a reality that just could not be ignored.
Oh good grief, Corby never met a terrorist he didn't like. He was present at a wreath laying ceremony on the graves of those terrorists who perpetrated the Munich massacre. He has hung around with the likes of the IRA, Hamas, and Iranian supported groups like the Mahdi Army Militia headed by Muqtada al-Sadr. These groups are killers of innocent people and they need not be understood but defeated so the world can become a safer place in which to live. Thankfully the British electorate has sent him packing. Maybe Hamas can give him a job?

Ken Livingstone had a column in the Evening Standard some years ago. On one ocassion, comenting on an earlier election he said "If there was a ox on the ballot form that said "None of these, none of us would get elected."
Corbyn accepts part of the blame, but mainly blames Brexit and the press. Emily Thornbury is quoted as saying that the stupid voters are to blame.
Many former labour voters when interviewed, said that they didn't believe Corbyn, or didn't trust him. Former MI6 cheif said Corbyn was a security risk.
Liberal Democrat leader who was expecting to be elected Prime Minister, lost her seat and her party ended with one less seat than before the election.
No. The British people were fooled by a proven liar & coward, who was afraid to answer questions from reporters & hid in a fridge, who pocketed a reporter's mobile phone rather than look at a distressing photo on it. One with a history of racism who supported Israelis against the Palestinian people & encouraged Islamophobia. One who supported the austerity measures that have caused child poverty, homelessness & deaths in shop doorways, & the run down of the National Health Service.
Its very sad, & the British people will realise they have been fooled.

Strange that many people interviewed in former Labour heartlands said that they thought Corbyn was a liar, they didn't trust him and didn't like his form of Socialism.
They mostly voted to leave Europe and blamed Corbyn for blocking it.
Remember Corbyn was always against ghe EU till he got elected as Labour leader, then changed his mind to fit in with the unions, then he changed his mind after the referendum, then said he would negociate a new deal, but some of his shadow cabinet said they would vote against any deal and Corbyn himself said he would be neuteral. Those of his former voters who have lost out due to EU policies, such as fishermen. They were not for Boris Johnson, they were against Corbyn.

THat is not evidence for any falsehood on Corbyn's part - only that they didn't trust him. Accusations of antisemitism are totally unsubstantiated, rather the reverse. Many Jews supported him.
The policies he put forward were costed, but could only by (dis)proved by voting for them.
We will soon know how (dis)honest Johnson & co are, & how (un)realistic are his policies.
I watched Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Manchines, on BBC 2 this afternoon. Over 40 years ago my wife and I saw it at the Cinema. My wife always remembers it because she says I was so embarrasing due to laughing out loud so much. I still found it just as funny today, somewhat more so than your posts.
My wife's family were socialists. If he had not had to move south due to his health in Sheffield due to the polution from thr steel works, he would have been prospective labour candidate for the Sheffield seat that was later represented by David Blunket. My wife now says "Their religion was socialism." They took the Daily Worker every day and visited Russia before the war.

The only honest one in all this is Nigel Farage. He has only one policy. To get us out of Europe. After the referendum he resigned thinking his job was done. Unfortunately he didn't allow for all those politicians who tried to block the will of the people, even though they voted to respect it. Nigel formed the Brexit Party and six weeks later got the highest no of MEP's in the European elections.

The socialists of that era (1920-60) did a great job, from which we are all still benefitting. The trade unions had too much power after that & were destroyed by Thatcher & co. Before then, after the war, both Labour & Conservative concentrating on rebuilding the country. At that time I voted Conservative. Once Thatcher gained power & voted Liberal, Independent or Green.
Yes. Labour post war policies made a tremendous difference to our lives - the NHS, free grammar school education & university grants served us well. Everyone could then look forward to a job, often apprenticeships leading to skilled worker pay, & everyone could look forward to marriage, with a home (often a council house) with enough pay to support wife & children without child care.
Our generation & our children have benefitted, but under 40s are in difficulties.
That does not mean Farage is honest. He got into Europe as a wrecker & is rich enough not to care what happens. If the worst happens, Trump will welcome him into the US.
Being honest doesn't win votes - ask Jeremy.

Because neighbouring councils have been deprived of their grammar schools, a lot of their scholars apply for and get places in our grammar schools.

Education reform was begun by the wartime coaltion government. The 1944 Education act was introduced bu R A Butler, a conservative member.

The plans for post-war secondary education in Britain aimed to remove the inequalities which remained in the system. The proportion of 'free places' at grammar schools in England and Wales increased from almost a third to almost half between 1913 and 1937. However, when poorer children were offered free places, parents often had to turn them down owing to the extra costs involved.
The Education Act of 1944 was steered through Parliament by the Education Minister, R.A. Butler, and was followed by a similar Act for Scotland in 1945. The Act provided free secondary education for all pupils.
Local Education Authorities (LEAs)
Local Education Authorities were required to submit proposals to the new Department of Education for reorganising secondary schooling in their areas.
Most LEAs aimed to establish the three main 'streams' or categories of school - grammar, secondary modern and technical - which had been recommended in a Report by Sir William Spens in 1938. Children would be allocated on the basis of an examination at the age of 11, known as the '11 plus'. This was intended to provide equal opportunities for children of all backgrounds.
The school leaving age was raised to 15, though the stated intention that it should be 16 was not effected until 1972.
I have always been against the EU. It is Undemocratic. It is corrupt. It has never had an audit of its accounts.
Henry VIII freed us from being under European laws an courts (papal) but our treacherous politicians put us back under European control and courts.
Cameron Lied. After the last Labour financial disaster under Gordon Brown, when our major banks were about to collapse, and the government was forced to part nationalise them. We also had Austerity as a result of that disaster.. Cameron cut government spending by 10% and insisted that the EU did the same. The result was that the EU inreased their spending by 6%. which meant we had to pay them more.
The EU is not likely to last long. It is likely to descend into confusion, best be out before then.
