Mods, please close my thread. This has turned into an allegation and accusation-fest by Internet Theologian against Jon C. It's sickening.

I don't hold those in contempt anymore than MM held those who he disagreed with in contempt. MM actually regarded Beeke highly and didn't condemn J.I. Packer either. You are confusing disagreement with contempt, brother.
But while you are at it, how is saying that God has decreed certain teachers for the Church and decreed their teachings accurate any different from submitting to the Church to determine the Word of God?
Have you always been Baptist? I detect a hint of RCC….no……maybe a hint of fundamentalism.
Were you indoctrinated into a fundamentalist congregation before becoming Reformed?
If so, that would explain why you hold to Reformed doctrine but in such an unorthodox manner.
Anyway, give me a list. Who, other than you, have I held in contempt?
uh...yea, whatever:
Internet Theologian,
It is obvious to me that you cannot defend your accusations, and I apologize for asking you to admit that inability. Pride is a difficult obstacle to overcome. For you, it is pride that prevents you from realizing or admitting your error. For me, it has been pride in making it public here. I know that you can't defend your claims against me,and I realize that you are aware of the same.
I pray that God may count you worthy,
No, brother. You have severely misunderstood. God does not make us worthy to be saved. I am surprised you did not recognize that I was quoting Scripture. That was a prayer that Paul prayed over the Thessalonian believers. It is not a prayer for conversion, but that being saved God will work in the lives of His children to make them worthy of that calling. With Paul the calling of God is always effective (those who are called refer to those who are saved). The Thessalonians belong to God, and since they have been saved Paul prays that they might live up to that calling (e.g., Eph. 4 Paul urges us to “walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which we have been called”).Yes, sure, mix in questioning my conversion.

="DHK,
The word "gospel" in that verse simply means "good news" the same expression that "gospel" always means. It is good news. But when used in the context in the above verse, the good news was not referring to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, was it?
The only thing that can justify the heathen is the cross.
So the gospel was preached before to the heathen as the scriptures declare. The Abrahamic Covenant was the gospel.
Will comply with that request.Mods, please close my thread. This has turned into an allegation and accusation-fest by Internet Theologian against Jon C. It's sickening.
