The Crusades were one of the darkest periods in Church history and should never be repeated. A militarized Church is antithetical to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Whether our government, which has been handed the duty of the sword handles things better is up to them.

But, as history teaches us, we should always keep in the mind that while the militarized Church of that time had some victories, in the end, a great defeat awaited and ultimately the Muslims the Church sought to destroy ended up destroyed the Church in Africa and the Middle East. So the Crusades, regardless of whatever meme you might make, were a dismissal failure.

I don't buy that. The Muslims attacked hundreds of times, slaughtering by the thousands. They got their due. There are Christians in our own military, may God bless their aim.
