The USA together with several European countries had an agreement with Iran concerning nuclear disarmament including inspection.

Trump reneged on that deal without discussion with the other nations despite Iran keeping to the deal allowing international inspection.

Why should N. Korea go forward with a such an unstable character as Trump, who, once NK disarms could renege on any agreement he makes taking advantage of NK being effectively defenceless.

The obvious way forward is trade deals & international cooperation. How should we deal with enemies? Make friends with them!

Firstly, the deal was technically illegal since it never was submitted for vote in the US Senate. Everyone was against the deal so Corker of Tennessee got a resolution that it must be voted down within a certain time period or it would take effect at that specified date. With the GOP capitulation, Obama just made a personal agreement with Iran.

The deal that Obama made said that we could ask to inspect a particular location in the future and if Iran agreed, then we could go there in a couple of months. It was a stupid agreement because there was no inspection.

Because Obama's deal was personal and not legislative, Trump had the power to withdraw from the deal.

This withdrawal angered the UK, Germany, and France, who have been making a lot of money in Iran. How do you make friends with a psychopath?
