All you cooking up these fancy meals should be required to provide dinner portraits. I made some crock pot deer shoulder. It's not pretty but it sure is good.

I would except for two things:
1. I'm not good at posting photos online, and
2. My meals never look as good as the professionally arranged ones in the cookbooks. LOL!!!

I'm thinking a chicken and dumpling recipe, with vegetables I saw on tv the other night, if I feel like it, haven't felt good this week.

FoG, if you ever feel the need, feel free to send me a photo and I'll post it for you. I post photos on my blog occasionally and they're not always beautiful, but I do try to sometimes get just one plate looking nice for a photo.

Tonight is something we call cold veggie pizza. I don't know if I completely remember the recipe, but it used to be our very favorite thing to make in the summer. It's just rolled out crescent rolls to make the crust, and after that cools we put a sauce on made from sour cream, ricotta (this will be the first time I tried ricotta) and a packet of ranch dressing mix.
Then we top it with mixed up diced raw veggies and it's done. Whoo-hoo! The two "new" kids and hubby haven't seen this one yet, so it'll be interesting to see their reaction. I hope they like it. I'm trying to gradually incorporate our faves.

Thanks Gina. I know presentation is important but I'm more interested that the dish taste good. My dishes would rarely look as good as those in cookbooks.

Tonight is Honey-Lime Red Snapper, French Fries, Caesar Salad, and a Brittle Torte [This is new-never made this before].

We had our daughter and her fiancé over for dinner tonight. I made my version of Alice Springs Chicken*, mashed potatoes, broccoli and cheese, parkerhouse rolls, and my mom brought a pineapple upside-down cake.

* I seasoned boneless skinless breasts somewhat heavily with Lawry's Season Salt and them baked them covered for about 45-50 minutes. Each breast was placed on the plate, covered with shredded colby and mont. jack cheese, and topped with bacon. Alice Springs Chicken is supposed to have sautéed mushrooms on top of the chicken under the cheese, but our daughter doesn't like them. The dinner was for her so I made it the way she likes it.

Tonight I have a roast in the crockpot, baked a loaf of french bread, and will probably pull out a bag of baby carrots to pretend to be healthy.

I have been sick all day from something I ate at a wild game dinner last night, so dinner consisted of Campbell's Tomato Soup and some saltines.

Tonight we're having pork chops, corn, and I'm not sure what else. I've been using up items in the deep freeze to make room for some beef we're getting next week.

Next week's question from abcgrad is what to do with all that beef, lol. I'll give you a hint when I send you my adress, lol.
Tonight is a baked roast beef with carrots and onions and mashed potaotes and warm buttered bread.

I felt better this morning, but that changed when we went out to get groceries. :( At least I didn't lose my lunch (we went to a little Chinese place we like).

I guess I can say General Tso's chicken was dinner, then.
