What's your occupation?

I am currently a machinist; I work in a tool and die shop. I began my machinist career when I was 20 years old back in 1972. I have done many things during this past 33 years including substitute teaching for 5 years while I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Houston. I have recently returned to my roots as a machinist, at least while there are machine shops still here in America.

Industrial, commercial, (schools, factories, high rises), union roofer out of Cincinnati. Also, single dad, baseball coach, and wannabe low handicap golfer, but it just isnt happening.

As a side note, I am very impressed with the talent on this board and appreciate knowing the occupational backgrounds of people I've been posting to. Excellent original post.

911 operator police/fire/ems dispatcher...I teach piano lessons since I majored in music ed in college. I do income taxes in the first part of the year since I trained to do taxes 25 years ago.....and I do online auctions. I will do the music in VBS this summer, and I am very involved in the music ministry at my church.

I grew up on a farm/ranch, and I was an animal control officer for 10 years before I went into
dispatch.

This thread doesn't seem like it should be in the Debate forum. Maybe the forum for Other Discussions?

Could be that some of the posters in here stick with the Baptist Only forums so it is a bigger response.

It is because we are mostly Republicans who have never worked an honest day in our lives. Howard Dean said so the other day...

To Magnetic Poles:

In your posting about some of the jobs you had, you mentioned something to the effect that you were at one time a telecom consultant. You then said that, as a result of this you knew something about what SS7 is.

I suppose that was because I had earlier posted that my job involves dealing with troubleshooting SS7-related equipment.

Then you seemed to indicate that you thought I am someone whose BB screen name is "Br Curtis."

Sorry, but I'm not "Br Curtis." :(

I've read some of his postings here at BB

, and I'm sure he's a fine brother in the Lord, but he's not me.

Just wanted to point out an apparent case of mistaken identity.
