So, are you saying that Jesus turns into a door the same way he turns into the elements of communion?

No. Jesus didn’t hold a door in His hands and say ‘ this is my body ‘.

He did not say He was A door, He said that He is THE Door.

Jesus is Reality, whatever He says is, is reality.

I believe it is His Body and Blood because Jesus said it is.

I believe Jesus, I don’t understand how He did it, just as I don’t know how He walked on water, healed the sick or raised the dead, fed a great multitude or turned water into wine, but I believe these anyway.

Who am I to even have one doubt, to not believe something is that Jesus says is.

We have His own words telling us what is.

This is the threshold of Faith, to believe not because you see or understand, but believe it because Jesus said it.

Believe it because Jesus said it, that faith in Him will not be in vain.

Of what good is Faith, if we must see first or understand it first to believe it.

There is nothing surer than Jesus own words. As He said, Heaven and shall pass away, but my words shall never pass away.

All that is left is to believe.

So Catholics believe that the elements become the actual blood of Christ
It is simply a metaphor.
Jesus also said:
"I am the vine" a metaphor (John 6:35)
"I AM the Door " A Metaphor (John 10:9)

Ect, ect, ect
another poster went into much detail on this thread.

Yes, Jesus did use metaphor, but St. Paul made it clear that He did NOT mean Christ words at the Eucharist as a metaphor as did the early writers of the Early Church. Jesus was emphatic 'VERILY, VERILY you must eat my flesh and drink my blood'. So many departed from him. If he meant it as a metaphor why didn't he say: 'Hey, come back! You misunderstood what I was saying, let me clear it up for you!' Nope, Christians for years affirmed the Real Presence of Christ in Holy Communion. It was only until 1,600 years later your reformers thought they understood it better than people like Ignatius who set at John's seat being taught. You have ZERO writings of the Early Church supporting your claim. Are you saying the evil Catholics destroyed all the supporting writers of the Early Church? You say 'the scripture is all we need' when a plethora of writings following the New Testament back up the teachings of the Catholic Church. The reason you have literally thousands of evangelical churches all claiming to have the truth inspired by the leading of the Holy Spirit is because everyone becomes their own interpreter. Tell me, is it unlimited atonement or limited atonement, is it Eternal Security or can you lose your salvation? How many times must a young child who makes a decision for Christ be re-baptized because 'they just really didn't mean it the last time they were baptized'. Any idea how many Baptist churches there are in my hometown because of splits due to doctrinal disputes. What a treat for Jesus.

When we believe in Jesus words only because Jesus said it, we are standing on the word in Faith.
You will pass on firm ground dry shod, walls of doubt parted to your left and right. Faith will bear you across, clothe you in the Garment and welcome you to your place at the Feast.

Come what may, believe Jesus words, stand on it, ignore all wind and wave and fix your eyes on Jesus.
