I don't check in here often anymore for two reasons: !. It seems to have been taken over by "ultras", meaning ultra Calvinists, ultra fundamentalists, ultra YEC, etc. That brings so much vitriol with anyone who might have a difference of opinion on whatever the topic is that it is unbecoming conduct for Christians. 2. Maybe this is just me, but I just sooooo unimpressed with fighting to the death over minutia of theology while folks die without Christ. So I now take most of the time I used to use on forums down at the "fishing hole" aka McD's for coffee, chatting and hopefully evangelizing and counselling others to look to Jesus.

I don't believe God will ask me how many I converted to Calvinism or Free Grace or Arminianism or whatever. I do believe He will ask how many I introduced to Him.

Every day we have plenty of opportunities to get angry, stressed or offended. But what you're doing when you indulge these negative emotions is giving something outside yourself power over your happiness. You can choose to not let little things upset you.

You said people need to start quoting Joel Osteen so I obliged. :) I think it's actually a good quote and very true. Maybe take it to heart?

Illness and fatigue.

Sick and tired of being a considered a racist because my ancestors never own slaves, an uncaring consumer of the earth because of my carbon footprint and possibly unsaved because I am more inclined to quote Wesley than MacArthur.

In the downtime I've been restoring some antique furniture, did a period correct restoration of the dining room and laid in the backyard with the 6 year old counting stars.

The neighborhood on BB has changed considerably and I'm not quite sure I like the changes.
LOL.....have fun with that kid, what a blessing!!!! Thats the important stuff.

Yes, and you're one of the prime malefactors. You're a one-trick pony. You have some things we need to hear, but you continually push the boundaries to elicit responses that you think will go beyond the limits of civil discourse. We've had this conversation in PMs. Don't be so smug.

OldRegular, J.D., Luke2427, tyndale, asterisktom, Old Union Brother, pinoybaptist to name a few that I wonder about often.

Hello, Kyredneck - and Hank and all the rest. I cannot speak for others, but my main reason has been that it just seemed repetitive. From my perspective, it just felt like playing Whack-a-mole. I got tired of repeating the same thing again and again. But I shouldn't be that way.

Another reason was the distraction of being here in China. Things are changing in a big way. How shall I say this? Things are getting prickly. I am the only one among the foreign teachers in the hall who has not been hauled to the police for some infraction, real or imagined.

But I do intend to post more here. Of course, the last time I wrote that my Internet connection went Pffft! for a long time.

Hello, Kyredneck

Hello Tom! Makes me glad to hear from you!

Please be careful over there, I'll pray the Lord will bring you safely home when the time comes.

What you should do is post more of your interesting and educative threads to dilute some of the redundancy on this board. :)

Hi Tom, as a fellow resident of China I readily identify with a lot of the above.
I haven't been able to log in for a long time. But I haven't tried to more than a few times per week.
Good to see you posting.
