Darrenss1 - Total depravity is illistrative theat man of and by himself will not seek after God, know or even care about anything having to do with God. THis is the result of his depraved nature, and since he will 'never' seek (and such) without divine help, he is totally depraved.

Allen, Allen, Allen, I know this I believe that as well. No man comes to the Son unless they are first drawn. I have said repeatedly that the preaching of the gospel is one of the means the Father uses to draw sinners to Christ (not the only means). The sinner can respond to the gospel because they are being drawn; If they're hearing it, they can respond, bottom line. The Divine help is God's intervention to drawn sinners to Christ for salvation, without which they will not seek God and certainly they cannot save themselves or be good enough to merit salvation by their own works.

As I said repeatedly, all are drawn, some respond and believe, others reject, rebel and/or ignore.

Hope I made that clear, if not this time.....

Hear the word, the Holy Spirit convicts us using the word, the Scripture acts as light and opens our eyes with the work of the Holy Spirit. Truth is light and light dispels darkness. Next is repentance toward God - man stops defying Him and humbles himself before Him agreeing with God that he is a sinner and God is his only hope then in this moment he believes and confesses the Lord Jesus Christ. God then saves the person, justifies him.

The doctrine that teaches regeneration comes before faith is a false doctrine. It is not found in the Bible anywhere at all.

Aaaaamen!!!

You appear to be somewhat conflicted in your beliefs and in your use of Scripture!

In your post #292 you state:

Titus 3:4,5 [I assune the NASB]
4. But when the kindness of God our Savior and {His} love for mankind appeared,
5. He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

”God saves us by the washing of regeneration and the renewing by the Holy Spirit this is a fact of God's word and this is the only place this word is used in conjunction with salvation.”

Yet in your post # 298 you state:

“The doctrine that teaches regeneration comes before faith is a false doctrine. It is not found in the Bible anywhere at all.”

I assume that the passage from Titus is considered Scripture. It is in the Bible. But hang in there.

No, he is absolutely doctrinally and thus 'biblcially' correct on this. The passage of Titus does not state 'in conjunction with savlation' as you say. In order for it to make such a claim we must add to scritpure. No where in the text does it state 'in conjunction with' or even allude to such an idea. It states 'He saved us by..' not in conjunction with.

Regeneration IS salvation, at least according to scripture, at least in Titus where the word is actually used. In fact the actaul word itself is only used in 1 of 2 places in scripture.

I liken regeneration to that of being a new creation at the instant one receives eternal life through faith alone in Christ. With that being born again, indwelling of the Holy Spirit, made spiritually alive, passed from death to life..etc
