After Lutheran church then Episcopalian then Baptist.

I was saved in the military two years into my enlistment. I was stationed at Griffiss AFB in Rome NY.

Though enlisted my squadron was an intel/information unit and we had rooms in an old officers section of the base.

I had a compulsion to start reading the bible. I had a radio and I would listen at night (the only time I could get Wheeling West Virginia) to a Wheeling w. Virginia preacher.

After about a year of struggling I gave in and one night reading in the gospel of John Jesus told Martha who He was and then said

John 11
26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

That night I said yes as well and like Martha I yielded myself (or was enabled) to Him as my Lord, my God and my Savior.

My life was turned upside down, my party buddies asked "what happened to Hank?" - "he got religion".

Yes in my naivety I went back to the RCC, was being groomed by Jesuits for the priesthood but all along as I continued my study in the scripture I began to see the RCC in a different way and finally could no longer identify with it.

Thank you for sharing your testimony. Hopefully you followed through with Believer's baptism. May God continue to lead you (and me) on our pathway to heaven!

Wow, a formed catholic and former Mormon who now believe in the real jesus and the real Gospel that saves!

I guess if I wasn't an Old Line Old School Primitive Baptist I would probably be a Puritan... Are they still around?... If not then I would lean the way of kyredneck in post number two... Him and I seem to think alike... But I do like the Puritans and I dig their cool hats!... Brother Glen:D

Yes, many Puritan churches are still around after nearly four centuries. Look for "Unitarian" or "United Churches of Christ."

First Church Boston - Unitarian Universalist
First Church in Boston was established on July 30, 1630. When John Winthrop and his party stepped off the Arbella, their first official act, even before drawing up a charter for the city, was to create by themselves, and sign, a Covenant for the First Church in Boston.

Trinitarian Puritan churches eventually joined together in the United Churches of Christ, such as this one where Pastor Mark Dever of Capitol Hill Baptist Church was once a minister:

Topsfield (Massachusetts) Congregational Church - United Church of Christ

Well I'm glad I do not have to make that choice so I will just stay where I'm at... Never had to jump from one denomination to another or from one church to another to another, but thanks Jerome... I can always buy the hat and get those fancy shoes with the buckle... Brother Glen:)

In Britain at least, many Puritan churches still survive intact, especially the Particular Baptist ones. The Met Tab in London (Spurgeon's) is a direct descendant of one established in 1650 and once pastored by Benjamin Keach.
London Metropolitan Tabernacle - Metropolitan Tabernacle
And this one, where I sometimes have the honour of preaching, was founded in 1653.
Newhouse Baptist Church – Newhouse Independent Baptist Church, Smeatharpe, Devon – Evangelical …
The same doctrines are still being preached today.

If I didn't belong to a Baptist denomination I'd probably lean towards a mennonite congregation.

By Grace through Faith in Christ alone.

Baptists believe that the Bible teaches that all human beings have chosen to sin, that is, to disobey God. The consequence of sin is eternal death. Persons are not capable of saving themselves from this plight. God has provided salvation (John 3:16).

God’s gift of salvation is available through faith in his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. By his life and by his death on the cross, Jesus offers a way from eternal death to eternal life. That way is an expression of God’s grace. The way can be walked only by faith (Romans 5:1-2).

Salvation is available only through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Some denominations have included such things as baptism, church membership, good works or sacraments as necessary for salvation. Baptists have insisted that salvation comes only by faith in God’s grace gift of Jesus.
The thread title is self-explanatory: which Christian denomination do you consider to hold the most truth, second only to the one you belong to? If you weren't a (insert the label that defines you denominationally here), what do you think you'd be? You're welcomed to bring arguments to support your answer.
I choose none, in whole. All of them hold lies and all lies are going to fall away. I stand solely on the Word and only embrace the truth in all. I do believe however, Orthodox and Catholicism hold the Dogma of faith therefore, more truth than Protestantism.
I do not recognize the pope as the head. I do think some definitions concerning Dogmas are incorrect, but in comparison to Protestantism they hold more truth.

If we add anything else to that truth, of saved by faith alone thru grace alone, we then have another and a false Gospel!
Just curious to whatever happened to saved by grace alone thru faith alone then?

We are saved by faith that Jesus Christ died and rose again for our sins and as the Scriptures so clearly say what we do in life will be judged as well. So if you do not believe that, you are not getting the full gospel.

"...what we do will be judged as well."
2Co 5:9 KJV - Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
2Co 5:10 KJV - For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.

The results of this judgement will not result in being condemned to Hell. Praise God for our Salvation by His Grace!!
