Its called band wagon jumping. All it takes is another prominent author to bash him in a spiritual sounding way and the sheeple jump on board.

Perhaps. But he seems to be much like Joel Osteen in stuff being attached to him that seems to be counter to what Scripture says. And when you've got it verified as a quote from him, it's kinda hard to dispute.

He made some statements in PDL that come across as unBiblical. And when you open the door for what you believe instead of what God says, this is the result.

Zaac...

What kinds of ecumenical endeavors? What kinds of joining?

Any and all of them...if it is a christian ministry.

As an example...

There is nothing at all wrong with a chrstian neihbor participating in a soft ball leaghe with his muslim neighbor. Likewise there is nothing wrong with a christian. bringing food to a muslim who has lost a loved one.

But we DO NOT take our muslim friends out with us when we...a group of church members...are are out taking food to poor people.

To bring muslim friends with us for something like that is (((bearing false witness)))
We are telling the world that all religions are the same.

They are not

We are of the Light. They are of the darkness

What fellowship has light with darkness

Bringing food to the hungry with people that are not members of your church. That is a big no-no? I don't see how the message is "All religions are the same." How is this any different than serving at a soup kitchen?

Really? So if you go out and deliver food as a representative of your Baptist church and carry along a woman in a full burka, you're not sending a confusing message?

If your intention is to deliver food AND prosyletize, then yes, you would be sending a mixed message. If you are simply bringing someone food then no, I don't see any harm.

I will say this--I searched the internet to find out if Rick Warren had done this and I couldn't find anything. Furthermore, it sounds like an unlikely scenario--what church would do this--so maybe it's a strawman.

My discernment is in fine working order. God does not want us to stay as we are. He wants to conform us to Christ. Is a homosexual "wired" to be that way? Well, then God smiles at that!
Good grief.

See, I don't see "sin" and "gifts" as the same thing.

Until you see it in context, then it's easy.

Maybe you should see the thread about James White becoming KJVO. ;)

So then our church shouldn't hire an unsaved roofer to fix the roof of a single mom because she might get a mixed message?

What if that's part of her culture and she's saved?

No, it is the yoking of a christian organisation with a satanic organisation, for the purpose of ministry that is the issue.

Well, I dont know how I can make it any clearer or easier to grasp. Christians are not to yoke themselves with in ministry with satanic false religions.

If you are comfortable doing that, then thats your buisiness. .

Amy G....

Why would one need to ask Warren? His words are all over the internet. I watched the video, but wasn't really surprised at the info since I've heard and read of him for years. I watched his speech a few years ago when he said "God likes to see you being you". Ugh.

Me being "me" is just a big sinner. God wants "me" to be like Christ, not like ME.
I read PDL and threw it in the trash. His misuse of scripture was appalling. He uses many translations and paraphrases to pick and choose his points and even goes so far as to chop up verses and use 2 or more versions within the same verse! Thus making it say what he wants it to say. I bought the book because of all the hoopla and good reviews of it so I had no agenda when I read it. I was expecting wonderful things, but was sadly disappointed.

God have mercy

Definition of insanity= this thread.

"Insanity = Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." --Albert Einstein

I've asked for examples of Rick Warren's ecumenism, his twisting of scripture, etc. and no one has really obliged me. So I guess if I were to ask again I'm insane. Really, if there is a two hour video about it and loads of websites and internet quotes out there, surely someone can give some examples.

I'm glad Jesus was not against yoking himself with a false religion.

What are you talking about?

Matthew 10:34-36 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

Was the Jewish religion that Jesus ministered in a true religion?
