So now you are a seer? Who brought the stones...

One might ask you the same thing since you're constantly asking folks questions and then stating "what they think" before they answer.

...and back to our regularly scheduled program: Non Sequitur...

There go them sequins again.

Annsni..

C'mon Ann. You know better that.

I clearly posted earlier that in normal circumstanses we should be as friendly and and kind to them as anyone else.

It is joining up with SATANIC false religions and cults... IN MINISTRY...that is the problem.

Where is he joining up with satanic false religions and cults in ministry?

Yep she knows all too well what you were saying.

Yes, I know what he was saying. It's wrong to do anything with anyone from any different belief and we must segregate ourselves in order to not be accused of "ecumenicalism"

Check out this video called "Church of Tares". It is very long and many who have studied Rick Warren may know some of this information. But really, who is he really? I have personally seen the destruction (IMO) of what his Purpose Driven methods can do, and I feel that there are numerous churches throughout the world now that have modeled after Saddleback and are full of tares.

If you have the time watch the video and tell me what you think. Warrens influence has reached around the world and I'm afraid it is void of the gospel message.

Brother,

A few thoughts-

1. When you post a link like this you should expect debate and perhaps division.

2. Perhaps the problem with the PDC method as you observed it was not with the method but with the people who instituted it.

3. Rick Warren does a lot of stuff that isn't "church" like helping the poor and needy. That's not ecumenism. I participate in a Christian program to help addicts- I work with people from different faiths, but I present the Gospel each week, and people are saved. Am I ecumenical also? (If so, then I wear the label proudly.)

4. Jesus reached out to people of various faiths- that meant eating with them and even healing their sick. Was He ecumenical?

5. The "E" word gets thrown around too easily for my tastes. Ecumenicism is not really a dirty word.

6. Rick's not exactly my "cuppa tea" either. But I'm glad he's on "our" side, even if "we" aren't on his.

Sola Saint,
Just plain Bill, here. I have, for several years beyond the past decade asked people to carefully measure the message of Rick Warren's One World Church against the scriptures and have been cursed, condemed to eternity in Hell and all manor of other curses and you will find you have stepped into that same mine field with this topic.

One thing I will point out to you for future thought is your avatar. The heritic you have chosen to represent you on the forum is a local to my neighborhood and I would think long about using his image.

That sounds like more of what you "think" cause there certainly is no indication that he said or implied that.

Watch...........the.................video.

4 minutes in and I can see the lies already. No need to waste two hours on this garbage. LOL - He's arguing with what the Bible actually says just this little bit in so there's no need to go on.

I did a little research on the producer. He's got some nutty ideas and he's not exactly what I'd call a shining example of a Bible follower.

I am really surprised, Ann. I would not have expected of you, to be honest.

I just get tired of baseless attacks and I DID begin to watch the movie - not realizing it was 2 hours and I don't watch ANYTHING for 2 hours when I've got things to do. But I decided to at least begin watching it and right away there was a baseless accusation regarding what is written in his book. If they start out with dumb stuff like that, it usually means it's just going to continue. At least get the good stuff up front!

Text of Rick Warren's prayer

Text of RW's prayer at the Jan 20, 2009 inauguration of Obama:

Almighty God, our Father:

Everything we see, and everything we can’t see, exists because of you alone.

It all comes from you, it all belongs to you, it all exists for your glory.

History is your story.

The Scripture tells us, “Hear, O Israel, the LORD is our God, the LORD is one.” And you are the compassionate and merciful one. And you are loving to everyone you have made.

Now today we rejoice not only in America’s peaceful transfer of power for the 44th time, we celebrate a hinge point of history with the inauguration of our first African American president of the United States.

We are so grateful to live in this land, a land of unequaled possibility, where a son of an African immigrant can rise to the highest level of our leadership. And we know today that Dr. King and a great cloud of witnesses are shouting in heaven.

Give to our new president, Barack Obama,

the wisdom to lead us with humility,

the courage to lead us with integrity,

the compassion to lead us with generosity.

Bless and protect him, his family, Vice President Biden, the Cabinet, and every one of our freely elected leaders.

Help us, O God, to remember that we are Americans–united not by race or religion or blood, but to our commitment to freedom and justice for all.

When we focus on ourselves, when we fight each other, when we forget you–forgive us.

When we presume that our greatness and our prosperity is ours alone–forgive us.

When we fail to treat our fellow human beings and all the earth with the respect that they deserve–forgive us.

And as we face these difficult days ahead, may we have a new birth of clarity in our aims, responsibility in our actions, humility in our approaches, and civility in our attitudes—even when we differ.

Help us to share, to serve, and to seek the common good of all.

May all people of good will today join together to work for a more just, a more healthy, and a more prosperous nation and a peaceful planet.

And may we never forget that one day, all nations–and all people–will stand accountable before you.

We now commit our new president and his wife, Michelle, and his daughters, Malia and Sasha, into your loving care.

I humbly ask this in the name of the one who changed my life—Yeshua, ‘Isa, Jesus, Jesus—who taught us to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,

for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.

Amen.

Blessings on him, who leads our nation forward into more abortion on demand and celebrates homosexuality in our WH. Okay. When RW prayed that prayer that day, knowing full well that Obama was pro-abortion and his record on Partial Birth Abortion and his record while in the Illinois Senate....and even after obama said told him during the debate at Saddleback "deciding when life begins is "above my pay grade" - well, that did it for me as far as my opinion about RW. So who is the man? Was it about fame? Was it about having the name written down somewhere of praying at the inauguration of the first black President? Who knows? Only God knows the heart.

I am reminded about a once-known Christian musician by the name of Phil Driscoll. Never a sweeter horn in the world. But he played for the Democratic Convention back in 2000. I was appalled and emailed him to ask why he played for the DC knowing their platform is pro-abortion and he is a Christian. He wrote me back - "it was a gig." Who ever hears of PD now?

Was the inauguration prayer "just a gig?"

There are crossroads in our Christian path. We all choose the wrong path sometimes in our walk. But the Lord says that to whom much is given, much is required.

Sorry. Maybe I'm a prude. Maybe I take things too seriously. But if Christians don't have standards, if Christians can't be salt and light....

Won't be commenting again on this thread as it has gone on continually; haven't begun to read all of the pages. But that's my 2 cents. :flower:

Didn't God say to Israel He would bless those who blessed them? Was He referring to only the righteous being blessed? We are to pray for our leaders. Isn't that asking God's blessing in itself? Why is praying for their protection against our enemies a bad thing and dropping our standards as christians, LE?

Who has 2 hours of free time to watch an internet video? Could someone please summarize the highlights of the video or better yet point us to a printed version of the same material?

A printed version would be great. I could glance at it in between homeschooling. Watching a video for 2 hours is next to impossible in my life. I've not even seen a movie in ages! LOL

I watched the first 10 minutes. If the other 1 hour and 50 minutes were anything like the first 10 it is more lies, slander and misinformation. At what minute mark does this end and the truth begin?

I all seriousness dog, you should not even reply to my post if your not willing to watch the video which is the centerpiece of the OP. I had to go through 40 days of Purpose twice, so you should at least watch a 2 hour video to see if it is true..which I believe it is.
