That is not true.

The vote is done in the house and more Democrats voted for it than Republicans. That is telling. But at least we know there are 103 Republicans with some backbone. They just got sold out by their leaders.
Did your congressman vote for the $1.1 trillion omnibust?

Great link.State by state vote:
H.R. 244: Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military ... -- House Vote #249 -- May 3, 2017
Here in Minnesota a surprising vote.
Keith Ellison-D voted NAY. He's one of the most, if not THE most liberal member of the House. He went against Pelosi.
Colin Peterson-D voted NAY. He's a (somewhat) conservative Democrat. Trump won his district 62-31.
Jason Lewis-R voted NAY. He's a freshman conservative/libertarian.
Tom Emmer-R voted NAY. He narrowly lost the vote for governor in 2010. He's in his 2nd term in the House.
My representative, Erik Paulsen vote YEA. (boo!)
All three of these guys MN Republicans would have voted for TrumpCare.
Great link.
NC: All Dems (3) voted yea, 1 Rep yea, 1 Rep did not vote, 10 Rep nays.
Looks like an interesting district. Suburbs west of Charlotte, suburbs east of Asheville, and everything in between. And what's the main city/area that Patrick McHenry represents?
I was just watching Dobbs. Newt says Trump snookered the dems and actually got funding for the wall in the bill. He says they didn't read the fine print.
If true, kind of hilarious considering all the whining about the wall from people throwing their hands up. Looks like Trump also got some huge military spending and some huge border security spending.
If Trump says it's a good deal, all things considered, I tend to believe him. Politics is complicated. You can't alway get all you want when you want it, but you chip away.

Precisely how the Ds get virtually everything they want!!!!
Go back 75 years and compare the gov't then, with the gov't now! They were satisfied to get a bite or two at a time, while the Rs want to do it all TODAY!!
This is not to say that the Rs shouldn't get a heck of a lot more aggressive, but don't balk just because "IT" (whatever "IT" may be) ain't total!!
Dennis Prager used to say, "There's a dangerous party and a stupid party. I'm a member of the stupid party." My sentiments when it comes to the Republicans (of whom I'm a member).
For the 8 years of President Obama's presidency the ONLY Republican policy was to block everything he pro[posed. This is the ultimate obstructionist policy. This was a difficult time for America but we had major problems doing ANYTHING because of the GOP obstructionism. As I said...cowards.
Democrats will not negotiate. It's smashmouth politics all the way. Republicans are too chicken to take those dedicated idealogues on.
It's actually a major retirement city. NC used to have a moderate political perspective but due to illegal Republican gerrymandering seems to be a far right state.Looks like an interesting district. Suburbs west of Charlotte, suburbs east of Asheville, and everything in between.
Asheville is NC's peace/love/marijuana hippie city.
Here we have NC districts drawn in the 90s by Democrats, with the 12th highlighted:It's actually a major retirement city. NC used to have a moderate political perspective but due to illegal Republican gerrymandering seems to be a far right state.
It depends on the current racial make-up of that district. A common ploy is to concentrate all the black/Hispanics in one district. Is that the case? What about the other districts in NC?Here we have NC districts drawn in the 90s by Democrats, with the 12th highlighted:
Here are the current districts, again with the 12th highlighted, drawn by Republicans.
Now, fellow BB members, which look more gerrymandered to you?
Trump: The US government needs a good 'shutdown' if Senate rules don't changeThat is not true.
I don't see how the old NC 12 was defensible. It depends on the current racial make-up of that district. A common ploy is to concentrate all the black/Hispanics in one district. Is that the case? What about the other districts in NC?
So more Republican representation equals mean spirit and racism? In general, I can't believe NC's representation in the Congress represents the will of the people. I graduated from NC State and it wasn't the racist, mean-spirited place it seems to be now.

I was talkling about NC in general, which I have always loved. In my perspective yes, unfortunately. I believe Trump has re-ignited racism in America. What wasn't a racist and mean-spirited place when you went to NC State?
Are you referring to North Carolina State University?
Or the state of North Carolina?
Either way, you graduated from college, what, 40+ years ago? You want us to believe that North Carolina is MORE racist in 2017 than it was when you were in college?
