The second word is τηκεται, a Verb, Present Tense, Passive Voice, Indicative Mood, third person, singular meaning to liquefy, to melt.

No question about what it means. The only question is "when."

There are many questions involved in regards to how this verse is applied to Prophecy.

The argument that brought this into focus is a false argument.

Who has denied the meaning of what Peter states?

No-one.

One question would be, can we see a significance to the phrase Day of God in relation to the Day of the Lord?


2 Peter 3:10-13

The Day of the Lord can be viewed as synonymous with the Day of Christ, but, the context may not be readily apparent to everyone.

And the bottom line is that we are given the Prophetic timeline of events in Revelation, and despite the contention that Revelation was written prior to the last decade of the First Century, we can see it is the Last Word of the Lord to His Church.

What in Peter's statement would you see as not being literal? That is kind of the point of the argument that was presented. It means what it means, and the only viable debate is when it takes place.

Well, horse pucky. The thread I started which I thought more edifying than the question of the OP got deleted. So I'll ask it here.

Where will Jesus' White Horse graze in the Millennium?

We're definitely told He will come on a white horse, so I think pondering the things of which the Spirit has expressly stated is infinitely more profitable than the empty musings on the question of sex during the Millennium.

The thing about the horse is, it's an unclean animal, so it doesn't get to come into the Temple.

So, where will it be kept and what will be done with its poop? And since this horse descended from Heaven, is it heavenly poop?

The thought that there are no animals in Heaven doesn't quite make sense when we consider this world is but a shadow of Heaven. Heaven is by far a more substantial place than this physical universe, yet some have this wispy, shadowy impression of it.

So why bring it up?

That there will be procreation in the Millennial Kingdom kind of makes that a no-brainer.

An irrelevant issue seeing that no animal, clean or unclean...went into the Temple, or the Tabernacle.

Part of an animal, did...it's blood.

It is just my view that during the Kingdom the Saints will have their base of operations in New Jerusalem, seeing that is the place the Lord states He was going to prepare for us.

Not sure why you would resort to concepts which are a bit, well, questionable, but, as to whether people and animals will eat in Heaven is a bit off-topic to the OP.

In view is the Millennial Kingdom itself, where procreation, eating, and the results of eating will go on just as they do now.

And being a true Baptist, I have no doubts but that there will be eating in Heaven, lol.

Christ's body can be seen to be, in its glorified form, flesh and bone, and while we know that the provision of Life in Heaven is spiritual, there is no reason to think there will be no eating. There might be reason not to be vulgar, though.

There is nothing unclean in Heaven.

But that means there is a change in the law, and that change nullifies the whole law. And without the law, there is no Temple. There is no Levitical priesthood. There are no sacrifices and offerings.

I would agree, the Law has changed, as we are now a Kingdom of Priests.

The pattern set forth in the Law has been in large part fulfilled, but this does not mean that Prophecy has changed.

And Prophecy makes it pretty clear there will be a Temple in the Millennial Kingdom. These posts make it clear you are having a little trouble differentiating between the temporal (Millennial Kingdom) and the Eternal (Heaven), which I would recommend be something for you to focus on.

I have attempted to speak about the offerings prophecy speaks about in the Millennial Kingdom before, so I don't see reason to spend time on that again, particularly when it sends us away from the topic of the OP.

And without the Temple, why Jerusalem?

This is not a thread about pre-millennialism, Aaron, it is a thread with a specific focus on who will populate the Millennial Kingdom. If you want to deny pre-millennialism, feel free to start a thread. That there will be a population is evident in Scripture, and if you would like to show why Revelation 20 doesn't mean what it states, go ahead, but the musings you present here are a little simple.

What makes you think that the Jews did not use horses?

Show where in the very specific list given in both Leviticus or Exodus where the horse is considered unclean (impure)?

The Jews considered many animals available for use that they would not eat.

Yes, most certainly.

Should one "ponder Christ's horse" he or she might just find that it will be literally an event in which "every eye will see."

Should one fail in "ponder(ing) Christ's horse" one might fall into error and be like some that Paul had to straighten out who were taught Christ has already come and they missed Him, or that He sits atop a mountain or is out in the desert, or whatever some modern con will use to deceive.

As far a poop?

Horse manure makes excellent fertilizer, and there is plenty of need during the millennium with the greater part of the earth destroyed during the latter half of the tribulation.
