Why are the House Republicans such a mess?

Going forward I wonder if the Republicans will unify enough to get anything done in Congress. Could set up 2024 either way.

So asking the BB to enlighten us on the embarrassing 15 votes to pick a speaker of the house was wrong?

Took 15 votes, eh?

I wonder if, "they," knew in 2018 it would take 15 votes? This That and other stuff #10

Actually, the question is: will the Dem Senate pass bills sent to them by the R House?

This from before or after listening to the clip? :Wink

I am honest when I say that I don't listen to people who are promoting themselves and push an agenda that they are selling to the masses.
Tell me who these talking heads are and why is it that any of them should be listened to. Are they political experts who have their PhD in government affairs? Or are they actors telling people what those people want to hear?

My guess is nothing really changes. Little will be passed over the next two years (which is probably a good thing). The people voted for divided govt and that is what they will get.

There probably will be investigations into stuff, that in the end will amount to little..

LGBT agenda will go forward, tho. Repubs, with a few exceptions, are no longer trying to stop it. The abortion issue will move to the states, where it will remain legal in the blue and have restrictions in the red.

Spending will continue to climb. No one cares about the debt anymore and one day that balloon will pop. When, is anyone's guess.

I still pray for my leaders as the Bible mandates.

Honestly, other than that I have tended to become politically disconnected. I pray about that too.

So, you don’t listen to Liz Cheney either?

Funny how people with TDS are blind to their biases.

peace to you

Who is Liz Cheney? Is she Dick Cheney's daughter? I would have to Google search. I don't live with political news talk on all the time. I spend much of my time studying the Bible for an online Bible study I have with a handful of believers around the nation on zoom. Politics really isn't a big concern for me.

Yes, she is Dick Cheney's daughter.

In Congress Kevin Mccarthy represented the "establishment". Trump supported Mccarthy. Cheney supported those not wanting Mccarthy (those wanting a change in the GOP). She is also opposed to Trump running in 2024.

Then, you don’t really listen to anyone in politics. Fair enough.

May God bless your Bible study

It's fine to be disconnected from politics, if that is your choice, but that is an admission of basic ignorance. (Gaetz and Jordan were two of the main holdouts).

Honestly, intentionally posting ignorant commentary like the OP does not befit one who would be honest. In fact, it gives the opposite appearance. Asking a question and feigning sincerity while avoiding information direct from the sources gives a similar appearance. Yes, that’s what your posting amounts to.

Did you think my OP wasn't an honest request? I honestly had no clue why the Republicans couldn't pick a speaker. I still wonder why they didn't go to someone else rather than vote for the same guy 15 times. Surely someone else could have picked up the gavel.

The OP wording is clearly biased, and displays ignorance of history. This would be a grand opportunity to dig into the matter and see what American politics was designed to be (and what it really is), if the interest is really there.

As for an honest request, these posts of yours sound more like silly pleas for someone to do the thinking for you. Really, it doesn’t work that way.

Well, in a way it does, which is why so many do stupid things, e.g., vote Dem Progressive Left, join/excuse BLM/Antifa “peaceful protests,” imagine “wokeness” is intelligent, approve the LGBTQ agenda, fail to see abortion is murder, etc.

To say Cheney supported those not wanting KMac is just nonsense.

First Cheney is no longer in congress. She was fired. She represented the elite donor class that wanted the status quo.

Looks like the OP isn’t the only one not paying attention to politics.

peace to you
