Why do you use the Bible translation you use?

My short answer is a King James Version. More often than not it follows, I have found that it follows what is understood to be the common readings of the original texts Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek texts. In general added words by the translators are given in italics. And the keeping of the singlar and plural old English pronouns to agree with the original langauges.

My second choice is the New King James Version.

My third choice American Standard Bible 1995 edition. (I have the 1977 edition)

My fourth choice New International Version 1985 edition (out of print). (I have the 1978 edition)

A more correct title would be : Why do you use your Bible translation? And your answer was the KJV. And that, of course is a non-answer.

Most Christians use or consult a variety of Bible translations. I certainly do. They all have strengths and weaknesses. And I'm fine with that.

Sadly, Lockman has sullied NASB with their 2020 release.

What do you see in their 1977 edition that was better?
I always thought their use of "Thee, Thou and Thine" silly to keep just to address God.

Through out the translation is better.

Why is "your Bible translation" more accurate? Most Christians do not own a translation copyright.

They kind of did and kind of didn't. They also brought out the 2021 NASB update, the LSB. The 2020 NASB went the more liberal way and the LSB went the opposite way. LSB is an excellent translation.

The Lsb to me seems to read like the Nas 1977 updated
