OK this is getting off topic, This is not about Cruz if you can show how he did not "support" Trump feel free to start another thread. Attacking other is not how you convince other to vote for Trump. I've noticed that still no one has any response to anything in my original post. That is very telling at this point, they would rather talk about anyone and everyone else but Trump. Wonder why?

I didn't say that. And you know I didn't say that. And that you imply I did say that tells me all I have to know about you.
You didn't have too. I just wanted to clarify your argument hence the question mark. Feel free to start a new thread showing how Cruz failed to support Trump, that could be an interesting read.

So you would have Cruz, break the covenant he made to his wife, and disobey God's command to love His wife, because of a promise that Trump himself reneged on? That makes no sense to me.

Please quote where I said any such thing.

She asked, "So you would have..."

That is a question. That is not a statement. You never answered the question, just turned the around and asked another question.

Trump is not in charge of Cruz loving his wife. Cruz is. And Trump did not renege on his promise to support the nominee. He IS the nominee! Good grief!

She is pointing out that Trump reneged on his pledge to support whomever the Republican nominee would be back when there were multiple candidates in the primary race. In other words, Trump can renege on his promise for no reasons; Cruz should not renege on his promise after Trump spreads falsehoods about Cruz's father and wife. That is exactly what you are proposing.

You have so twisted it that it makes no sense to anyone.

Makes perfect sense to me.

It may come as a surprise to you but it is possible to love your wife and keep your word at the same time. They are not mutually exclusive.

All right, see if you like the same treatment--Please quote BlessedWife and show where she said this is not possible.

As Ted Cruz is a conservative Christian (Baptist) I think the verse that is much more applicable is Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you."

And for the sake of his own Testimony Ted could try John 13:35 "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Donald Trump admits that he's never asked Christ for forgiveness. These verses are all well and good, if Donald Trump were a follower of Christ. Since he's not, I don't see how these verses apply.

Where does the bible say we must "ask for forgiveness?"

Trump was raised as a Presbyterian, and has said he has faith in Christ as his Savior. He may be a pig, but can you really know his heart?

Matt 6:12, 1 John 1:9
I'm sure there are more.

Trump was raised as a Presbyterian, and has said he has faith in Christ as his Savior. He may be a pig, but can you really know his heart?

Trump was asked if he's ever asked God for forgiveness:
"I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don't think so," he said. "I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don't bring God into that picture. I don't."

So, he says he doesn't bring God into the picture when it comes to righting his wrongs. He tries to fix it by himself.

...not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, Titus 3:5a

The amount of rationalization that Christians engage in to defend their support of Trump is astonishing.

There are a dozens of reasons why I refuse to vote for Trump under any circumstances. You gave a great list of them. Trump is the worst candidate in recent American politics. Hillary is the second, which is why it was such a mistake for the GOP base to get behind Trump. They could be absolutely dominating, but they aren't because of Trump.

I know we will never know, but my bet is that if Marco Rubio were the nominee, he'd be up by 3 points, minimum. Plus, he'd have Florida by 5+. And Rubio is a decent man, so decent that he even apologized when he made an inappropriate joke. That's the mark of a true leader--humility, not bombastic rhetoric.

Matthew 12:33-37

33“Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for the tree is known by its fruit.34You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.35The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.36I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak,37for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Yes it does seem that we can know someone's heart since it spews out in their words, and lets face it Trump has spewed out a lot of words in this campaign.

I was a Cruz person myself, but I would have voted for Rubio. When the race started over a year ago, I said there were only a couple of candidates I would not vote for, they were Trump, Bush, Cristie, Kasich, and Grahm I figured 12 out of 17 my odds were good. But I underestimated the GOPs ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of Victory.

Luke_18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

I think Cruz would have had a harder road. Rubio had his Florida base of support, and that would have been so important.

I wasn't really a Cruz fan. I liked Kasich, though.

Where and when were you appointed fruit inspector for someone you have never met and do not know?

He has literally published his fruits and had interviews on them. How many adulterous affairs and serial marriages do you have to be unrepentant about? Any church with even semi-function church discipline would have kicked him out long ago, and we all know it.

Is it theoretically possible that he has a very weak but present faith? Sure, I suppose, but he doesn't act like it, and that's all we have to go on.

If Trump were a Democrat, I doubt he'd be getting such a favorable hearing (cf. Bill Clinton).

When someone decides to run for President and they are serial adulterers, bragging about their conquests, own a couple of casinos, have been divorced twice, and don't ask God to forgive them of their sins, it's not a difficult judgment to make.

That's a good verse to remember. :) Doesn't contradict the passage I posted, but still a good verse :)
I've not seen anyone thank God that they aren't extortioners, or unjust, or adulterers, or even tax collectors on this board but I may have missed it. :)

Matt 6:12
Uh, nope.
Matthew 6:12 "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors." Notice that word "as" in there? Christ is saying that we will be forgiven in the same way we are willing forgive others. We will have our spiritual debts forgiven to the same extent we are forgiving those who abuse us.

Let's see. 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

No "asking for forgiveness" there. Just confessing our sins.

Care to try again?
