    Gekko you are not going to see "1,000 years" in the Gospel accounts. That's not how it is described in the Gospels. But when you compare Scripture with Scripture and build precept upon precept and line upon line that it all falls into place.

    There is way too much to cover in this area to do it justice on a message board, but I'd be more than happy to point you to some resource material that can help you out or I would be more than happy to visit with you offline. Just PM if you want.

    Bob the last time I looked at your mug before you changed it you looked like a normal human being to me. Are you some sort of transformer? Do you think you are a literal city?

    Again, If we are the Holy City they could now couldn't they. Even they are part of that City. The disciples are the 12 foundations and the twelve tribes of Israel are the Gates of pearl.

    Matthew 6
    31: Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
    32: (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
    33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
    34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

    Please tell me if you are still looking for something to eat,drink or clothes to wear?:wavey:Study each Scripture, each word for one word can change the meaning of the Scripture and don't let others persuade you unless the Scriptures back them up. Examine what someone tells you. peace

    Oh, did you think that said 'all these things will be added to you in the kingdom?' No, you can even have something to eat in this life.

    Bob you missed the entire key of that verse. Seek ye first the kingdom of God. That is what we are supposed to be doing and yet you deny that the kingdom of God even exists.

    The really funny part is that Jesus was talking to the pharisees when He said the kingdom is within you.

    Luke 17:20-21
    20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
    21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

    The first verse that many use to try to perpetuate the idea of a spiritualized Kingdom is Luke 17:20-21[And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. ]. Many people, such as amillennialists, point to this translation of the Greek word “entos” which has been translated by the KJV as “within you”. They say that the Kingdom of God is only spiritual or is somehow mystically inside a person. However, in this passage, to whom is Jesus speaking? Jesus is responding to the Pharisees, not His disciples! Jesus is answering the Pharisees’ question, “When the Kingdom of God should come?” In the next verse, verse 22, it begins, “And he said unto the disciples”. In the same context, he turns and addresses his own disciples in verse 22. The Pharisees were not his disciples! In verses 20 and 21, he’s talking to the Pharisees, and then he turns to talk to his disciples.

    The Pharisees rejected the signs that Jesus had given to prove that he was the Christ; the Messiah. How could God's spiritual kingdom be within them? If the kingdom of God were within anyone spiritually, would it have been within the unbelieving Pharisees?

    This verse completely goes against the view that the kingdom of God is within the hearts of people that have accepted Jesus as the Messiah, because the only time in the Scriptures that it is used, it is used in reference to those who had rejected Jesus to be the Christ.

    The English translation “within you” does not make any sense because the Pharisees had rejected Jesus as their Messiah. The 1611 KJV translators were not sure how best to translate this word, so they included a marginal note with the alternate reading, “among you”. This is obviously the true meaning of the word in this context. It is translated “among you” or “in your midst” in various other translations such as the NASB, RSV, BBE, NLT, NJB, NET and the Rotherham translation.

    There is a very simple principle that Jesus gave that is being totally ignored.

    Matthew 13:10-11
    10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
    11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

    If Jesus was teaching the disciples that they were going to reign in a kingdom, that is Him revealing the mysteries of the kingdom to them. If He tells the pharisees that the kingdom is within them, he is speaking in a parable and it is not given to the pharisees to know the mysteries of the kingdom. So if you want to cling to 'the kingdom is within you' in the face of all the teachings that show a literal kingdom, go join up with the pharisees, because that is who Jesus said that to.

    HoG;
    I doubt very seriously that Jesus lied. Also there must of been some of the Pharasees that did believe, who else were they in those days. Jesus said plainly "ye are a city".
    Upon on this Rock I build my church. I will write upon him the name of the city of my God, that Holy City, New Jerusalem. You run to the Greek again but don't work this time too many Scriptures against you.

    "within you" is the translation they used in olden times when they were much closer to the happening than we are.

    Who has said that he did?

    Oh, and since you seem to be one of the ones who puts the man-made translation of the KJV on such a pedestal, those infallible translators that you adore even left us a note: Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. {within you: or, among you}

    Where do I deny that the Kingdom of God doesn't exist?

    Also James;
    It is saying seek the Kingdom now and these things to eat will be added to you. Don't try to make something out of it that is not there.

    Jesus did not lie. There is certainly a sense in which the kingom was within the pharisees, and the kingdom is within us all. It is in the word/seed sense.

    Matthew 13:18-19
    18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
    19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

    And yes, we are to be seeking the kingdom now.

    Just as those who surrounded David were seeking his Kingdom because he had been anointed King, even though he had not physically ascended the throne.

    Then perhaps you can better explain how the kingdom is within the pharisees?
