What a terrible conclusion to come to with regards to the Scriptures. In that case, let's let anyone become a pastor no matter what the Scriptures say. Let them be multiply-divorced, homosexual, drunkards, with uncontrolable families. It's no matter because we're all equal right?

Yet we ignore the whole of Scripture that speaks of submission, proper roles, proper authority and proper obedience to Christ. I'm sorry but what is written is a very liberal person's thoughts that completely whitewash the Scriptures.

I'm praying for you Annsi, that you may see the light , which i have seen . Call it liberal, moderate , or whatever,,, this is the truth as God, thru the Holy Ghost has shown ME . I will pray that your eyes, as well as every ones, will be opened to the TRUTH, that the LORD shared with me.

Oh I've seen the light - and seen the Scriptures. God's Word is true and does not lie. I see the churches with women pastors and would not set foot in them for their poor theology not in this area but in so many other areas. Not one church led by a woman is Biblical from what I've seen. Many teach heresies and continually explain away the Scriptures to where they are not even in the sermons or are so unrecognizable that I wonder why they bother to even have it in the pulpit. No - give me a church that reads and follows Scripture - ALL of it. NO need to pray that I see the truth - I already do.

Based on all of that, I offer this modest proposal: If anyone should ever ask why your church ordains women, just tell them that, based on a careful reading of the Bible, your church discovered that if you were going to refuse ordination to women, you’d first have to refuse baptism to girls because Galatians 3 says that once a person has been baptized, their gender is no more an issue in the church than the color of their eyes or their hair or their skin. Tell them that based on a careful reading of Galatians 3:27-29, your church ordains men and women because your church baptizes boys and girls.

Even if you disagree with a church ordaining only men...the above conclusions drawn ignore what is a very valid interpretation of Scripture. You can't simply ignore significant portions of God's Word and pretend they're not there.

Do you, honestly, give EQUAL weight to ALL the scriptures ?

You have said in this forum, that you use to be a millionaire, Do you ONLY follow the words of Paul, who said he was "The Chief of ALL sinners" ? Or the Word of God which is OUR lord and Savior Jesus Christ ?

I do. 2 Timothy 3:16 - ALL Scripture (not just some but ALL) is inspired by God.
Have your children ever been disobedient ? Have you stoned ALL of them ? Do you eat shrimp or catfish ? If not, you don't give "EQUAL WEIGHT " to all the scriptures. PLEASE BE HONEST.

I follow the words of all of Scripture - the Word of God. I do not place the "words in red" on a different plane than the words in black, if that's what you're saying. When God says that all Scripture is inspired - "God-breathed", then I listen to Him.

I'm not an Israelite. I DO give equal weight to all of Scriptures but I am also sure to read them in context. The law is given to the Israelites of which I'm not.

And may I ask - what does me having been a millionaire have to do with any of this?

I give 100 times the "weight of scripture" to the Red Words, than any other words, BECAUSE JESUS CHRIST IS MY SAVIOR ,

So you decide that the rest of the Scriptures are not written by God? That they wrote by themselves?

Well, I see the problem. Once again, believing in women pastors shows a complete lack of understanding of Scripture and therefore a denial of God's Word - and it is absolutely evident in your post. I'll pray for you to see the TRUE Light and not the darkness.

Did you loose your money through "shame investments", i.e. gambling in the stock market, etc.. ?
OR DID YOU TRUST TOTALLY IN GOD TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY ? Honest question.

Yikes.

You do realize Paul encountered this thing called "grace," "forgiveness," and "salvation"--right?

It doesn't have to be either-or.

One can trust in Christ for salvation...but not discount portions of the Bible.

LOL - Wanna know the truth?

We were a little unwise in some spending but:

We have a million dollar home with no mortgage other than a small HELOC.

We have a $150,000 sailboat that is paid for.

We have 3 cars that are paid for.

We now make under $40,000 living on Long Island where our property taxes alone are $16.600 and we have one daughter in private college.

We absolutely trust God with our finances and He has been gracious enough to allow us to stay in our home even with finances quite tight. Our bills are all paid and we are generous with our giving. We do not gamble and the only stocks we have are stocks that are being inherited by us when my ILs die.

So how about you?

IO don't "discount" Paul, BUT I KNOW THAT JESUS CHRISTS words hold, by far, superior "weight" than Pauls.
