Gov. Sanford of SC wasn't on the Appalachian Trail...he was in Argentina with his mistress. CLICK HERE

Twice in a week. Love those family values.

I see only Republicians governers do such thing.

Let me think about it a moment.... oh yes, does the name Gov Spitizer ring a bell.....

I wonder which is worse - failing to live consistently with noble values, or living consistently with ignoble values?

That isn't the point. In the last week we have Promise Keeper Sen. Ensign and now Gov. Hot Pants. It is the GOP that pretends to have the moral high ground. It is bad when anyone does this, but the GOP is the one throwing stones around their glass house.

Failing to live consistently with noble values but both are bad

Well, I don't know - he was a senator, but didn't John Edwards used to go around preaching family values as well?

It's not "worse" when a Republican does it, that would be a double standard. As for Sanford, I'm glad he resigned, hope he got all the attention he was after, hypocritical wingnut.

He resigned from a governor's conference, not from office.

Did he run on family values? He should resign immediately regardless.
He has just been disinvited to speak at the "Value Voters Summit" sponsored by:
Family Research Council
American Family Assn.
Focus on the Family
American Values

Looks like it to me. and you are right, he needs to resign now.

(Notice Mitch, I said you are right. Don't happen often, does it? )

How many of these politicians, from all parties, have we had to hear about over the past 20 years?

I'm so bored to tears that if I read a another link, I just might go into a coma right here at the computer!

Let me just get off track a minute and say to all of you men out there who have NOT cheated on your spouses that I am grateful to you and I hope that your wives, when hearing about this latest fiasco, will increase their respect for you 100 fold. You can show this post to them and tell them that I, Scarlett O. from the BB, said so.

I'm just sorry that your fidelity won't be on the evening news.

No, Sanford ran away on a secret vacation to get it on - that alone shows flawed judgment and selfishness on his part.

He resigned from a governor's conference, not from office.

Yes, you're right, that's what I meant but said it incorrectly. But I hear he may be impeached , so now I want him to quit first. Like John Edwards, he lied.

'Family values' US Governor admits affair

Did he run his campaign on family values?

Judge for yourself......

Governor Sanford - a family values Governor who called for the then president Bill Clinton to resign over his affair with Monica Lewinsky - has stepped down as head of the Republican Governors Association.

Remember when the GOP was shouting about being the party of family values. They made a lot of milage out of that.

South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford's admission today that he had an extramarital affair strikes another blow to the GOP's brand as the party of family values, particularly in a region of the country—the Deep South—that has become ever more critical to Republicans, who've lost ground recently in the Northeast and the West.

No doubt there will be Democrats caught in the same sleeze. But the Dems have not campaigned on family values. Probably smart they have not.

The Democrats don't promote family values? Did you not read about Obama's letter to his daughters last weekend? All that was about was family values.

Sorta reminds me of Clinton. Has he raped anyone yet?

Does he consider oral sex not to be "having sexual relations" as well?

Does he use the oval office for his trysts?

I find all the hand wringing by the Obama supporters here to be quite amusing. These are the same people that voted for the candidate that they knew would increase the funding of and the frequency of abortions.

What a joke!!!

"Look someone is guilty of adultery... at least I only have the blood of the unborn on my hands !!"
