In high-stress situations - and let's face it, GZ is under a lot of stress - we can't always control our reactions to things.

I had a young lady once who, in one of the most stressful times of her life, broke out in laughter. Where other people were crying, tears literally dropping off their cheeks, she laughed in our faces. We were understandably annoyed, and reacted in ... "proper" ... military fashion. And she laughed even harder.

Turns out, she was of the type that in high-stress situations, she couldn't control her emotional outbursts. She didn't find us funny in the least; in fact, if she were able to react the same way as others, then she would have been on the floor sobbing and whimpering.

Oh, that's obvious. The government wants to be seen as doing something about this heinous crime against minority youth.

Because, even before OJ, the "entertainment value" of such things requires that CNN, Fox, and other entertainment -- er, um, "news" -- sources have to keep their ratings going, and by golly, the constitution protects a "free press."

Don, it just seems crazy that WE the people keep letting these folks pimp us for ratings when all they are doing is making a volatile situation much worse under the guise of freedom of the press.

I deal with inner-city, outer-city kids of every skin color, creed and culture. And I'll tell you guys something that the average person im America may not have learned yet.

This not much you can tell me about "imAmerian" kids; I grew up in Houston, Texas, not out in the country.

But you call a Black person a thug or a gangsta, you might as well have called them the "n" word.

Yes, I use the dreaded N-word quite often. It doesn't apply to all blacks, just to the lazy, unmotivated, give-me-a-lifelong-handout-so-I-don't-have-to-work blacks.

If the black community was one-tenth as bothered by the N-word, as they claim to be, they wouldn't use it in much of their music and constantly when referring to each other.

And they will flat out tell you that's what it's perceived as. Several of the kids have told me that they are onto the way folks in the media, schools and the churches use the words because it's politically incorrect to say what they really want to say for fear of being branded a racist.

I don't fear being branded a racist; I don't care what other people like you think.

If after me being married to a Mexican woman for over 40 years doesn't settle your thoughts about whether or not I am a racist, too bad.

And I guess that says all about you that needs to be said.

I certainly didn't ask you to. But you should care about your witness.

If after me being married to a Mexican woman for over 40 years doesn't settle your thoughts about whether or not I am a racist, too bad.

I didn't call you a racist. Prejudiced? Bigoted? Perhaps may apply. But you haven't said anything that measures up to racist.

Both you do seem to have the proverbial chip on your shoulder specifically against Blacks who you feel to be lazy, unmotivated, and looking for a handout.

Do you feel the same about those of other colors who do that? Do you call them the "N" word too? Do you say it to yourself or out loud to their faces?

As I said, there seems to be a lot in your responses that isn't a display of Christian love. But perhaps the undercover prejudice from both sides is the reason the Church is still so segregated on Sundays.

A lucky break?!? It’s lucky to get a break on a technicality for murdering someone?!! Maybe its okay to use such ploys to serve one’s ignorant agenda and set this menace to society free?!?

So what!!! Maybe she didn’t regard the pictures Zimmerman with a few scratches and bumps as pertinent to the matter at hand…I don’t!

I have little doubt that that kid struck a chord of fear, or should I say “pure terror” into the heart of Zimmerman with some trash talking. So what!?! He got a few knots on his head along with it. So what, he earned it, he deserved it!!! In the leagues I grew up in I heard this type talk all the time, especially from people in their teens or early 20s, …I loved hearing it!...because I couldn’t wait to ask them again, “What’d you say you were going to do to me!” …and, “Now what!!!...the glory came in shutting their mouths! As friends, we would practice this talk with each other for fun…

All this goes to show is that big bad Zimmer who was wanted so bad to stand up to these, “F_ _ _ _ _ Punks!” That are always, “Getting away!” was not only OUT OF HIS LEAGUE, but in his motives of building up his ego he caused the death of a skinny “KID”(his victim) whom he decided to make a stepping stone toward his path of proving his manhood!

So what do we end up with after the event, a bunch of white people who sympathize with poor little Zimmer because they would’ve been scared for their lives too had that the big mean black man bloodied their nose and talked to them that way. So what!?! This does not justify murder in any way! This does not excuse the fact that Zimmerman started this whole thing by putting himself in this situation (which he didn’t belong) for the motives of trying to erase his own punkhood.

We have Zimmerman playing off this card now while crying poor scared little me, I had to kill him in “self-defense”.

How all this is perceived depends on one’s background, that makes it a cultural thing that has little to do with race in reality other than where one’s sympathies lie regarding their sheltered little lives because of lack of lack of cultural experience and understanding of the real situation here in their ignorance of not having lived with more diversity in their lives.

To top it off we have the law enforcement, who first bought into Zimmerman’s act of role-playing the victim here, now trying to cover their actions with distorted facts! Pathetic example of cops that were not culturally aware in the first place!!! That so many wouldn’t want to see Zimmerman held responsible for his poor judgment of putting himself in this situation that caused a young man’s death because of their own poor judgment of what really came down here, pathetic!!!

I guarantee there wouldn’t be a smile on this clowns face during these proceedings if I were involved in this fight for justice had it been my child!

P.S. it wouldn't matter to me IF IT WAS Zimmerman screaming in the recording...it would be an expected typical reaction of a COWARD which merely went to demonstrate ONCE AGAIN he was in over his head in this situation which "HE" PLACED HIMSELF IN!!!

This guy needs to be held responsible for his actions...

You sympathizers of Zimmerman are seriously messed up in your reasoning! :BangHead:

Don't have to know what he's been through day in and day out. ....

You did. Perhaps you didn't want to talk about the criminal behavior of a state attorney. What with her withholding evidence and all, rushing to put a man in jail for political reasons. Yeah, what he did is much worse.

LOL

And you folks who want him in jail before he's found guilty spit on the Bill of Rights.

Ha, I want "true" justice which you spit on because of a political agenda upon which your reasoning focuses on more of because of your own prejudices and ignorance…justice should be blind to such things…yet obviously you can’t see past it. All are created equal skips your mind in the process of justice and you speak of the Bill of Rights to defend presupposed ideas that this is a race issue and use it to express your sympathizes. LOL

Zimmerman was welcomed to the real world...take note.

Me thinks you have a personal axe to grind on this issue. Your posts seem most irrational.

Zimmerman didn't take Martin's life. Martin gave it away when he attacked Zimmerman, broke his nose and started beating his head into the concrete.

The only unjust thing is that we are having a trial at all. Zimmerman should have been congratulated and sent on his way. Martin's family should have been told to come take their gansta want-to-be son and dispose of his remains.

Don't take it so personal Rev. I simply chose to pull the plug on the political agenda motives around here and throw a twist into your passionate ongoing debate based on a reality check that Zimmerman “truly” has some “responsibility” here which any rational person should see, but many here tend to blindly ignore because of being irrationally involved in the politics in their idea seen in their quests behind this. Have fun boys…

Oh, I see, Martin didn't have the right to stand his ground, but Zimmerman did. Therefore, Zimmerman has no responsibility WHATSOEVER in escalating this through his poor judgment to a point of taking a life a teenagers life who made some poor judgment in how he responded to being assaulted. Got it...

According to the testimony Zimmerman was returning to his vehicle when Martin became the aggressor. He wasn't merely 'standing his ground'.

And just what are those?

Broadcasting constant irrational sympathies suggesting Zimmerman has no responsibility in this for taking a young man's life along with expressing he should be set free while rejoicing for any and all shortcomings in the prosecution of this case...even those based on technicalities.

Assaulting someone is not standing your ground.

Yeah , right, but it didn't come down by the vehicle did it??? Martin was probably was coming to his senses when he saw he gun come out too. Too little to late on both sides; does not erase the poor judgment Zimmerman (the initiator) "is" responsible for in the first place.
