    Did you ever think....

...maybe it's you that's hiding from the truth!

Do you see how this disagreement could go on forever? It will not do either of any good! You know how I feel, and I know how you feel. I respect how you feel, but somehow I don't feel the same respect! If I'm wrong, God will surely take care of that at judgement. That is my problem, and while I appreciate your concern, I'm not losing sleep over your lack of understanding or lack of seeing the truth, so try to let it go, and let God!

I'm OKAY, you're OKAY, and in the eyes of God we are both OKAY!

I'm surely not believing your lack of tongues will send you to hell, or even make you ess a beiever than me, so what is the problem with you? Why do you persist in trying to paint what I believe as being wrong!

In your understanding of the Word I see your point. But, I've been to the river, sister, and I can't go back! Still, I'm not asking you to go to the river, just to let me have what I believe. It surely won't keep me from heaven. And you not having it won't keep you from heaven.

Oh I know your side may debate that, and there are fanantics on my side that debate that too! Ask me if I really care? I know what I believe; whom I believe in; and I am okay with it!

My tongues are not that important in the big picture of his Kingdom. It is one small iota, compared to the great commission! Good night my sister and be strong. We have bigger fish to fry in this spiritual war we fight! :wavey:

    Shades of Thomas A. Harris!
Come on now RD2. You've been on the BB long enough to know that's what's it's all about! :) You sound like a newbie here.

All of us are convinced, hopefully, on biblical ground, that we are right on various doctrines and that those who take another stance are wrong. Or would you like me to mollify that a wee bit and say :You are incorrect?

do you hold to the "Baptism of holy Ghost as evidenced by tongues?" or that prophesy and tongues can give forth additional revealtions, as many inCharasmatic Movement hold with?

Are WoF teachers of the Lord, prosperity etc?

22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not:but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Stop practicing a manufactured version of this "sign" that is for UNBELIEVERS.

ALL the bible is inpired by God, but not all of it directly applies to us, as we now have the canon, and have no need for Acts to be redone here and now, as the bible itself is fully sufficient, when used by the Holy Spirit Himself thru preaching/teaching!

Do you have any Scriptural reason to believe this, as in some admonishment or reference to their no longer being in use?

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? [fn]After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,

Whod did miracles/healing in NT other then the Apsotles?

God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various [fn]miracles and by [fn]gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.
    hebrews 2:4 Nasb

God had used them to testify and witness/confirm the Gospel, so now we have the Bible alone!

    Not what I said....

.... I said that we both see this differently, and neither of us will change, but that doesn't keep either of us from being in the Family of God!

HOW MANY TIMES MUST i say this....

.... no I DON'T ATTEST TO THAT. In my heart and mind baptism of the Holy Ghost does not always mean tongues, nor is it an evidence of being baptized in the Spirit. The fruits are the evidence of the Baptism, as are many different gifts He gives, at Baptism and at other points in our walk!

Please don't ask this again! I do not now, ever did, or ever will believe that you have to have tongues to show as evidence of being baptized in the HOLY Ghost! :BangHead:

Like I said: I'm not your standard, cookie-cutter Pentecost. I am for sure not a Chrasmatic. And my Papptist beliefs extend far beyond the normal box of many Baptists!

Love not only speaks but seeks the truth and the tongues of today are not of God. There is no such thing as prayer tongues or singing tongues of a language that is not a known language. Those who promote this are puffed up and deceived.
God does not give a language that the speaker does not understand what they are saying.
