    Your doublespeak:

    Revmitchell said:
We should send all troops and equipment in and destroy them with as much force as is necessary....... we cannot afford it.

... “A lot of people think of the Islamic State as a terrorist group, and it’s not useful,” Hassan said. “It is a terrorist group, but it is more than that. It is a homegrown Iraqi insurgency, and it is organic to Iraq.”

I'll never tire of bringing up the fact that it was right wingnut interventionism that created ISIS.

What are we to do now, intervene some more? Put more war on the credit card for our children and their children's children to pay for?

I couldn't care less what you get tired of. I know who and what you are. All you're really saying is that you liked Saddam in charge of Iraq. So did the leaders of Isis.

That doesn't change the fact that the question posed by this thread was how to confront.Isis. I stated the first step was that Obama had to go. Who the leadership of Isis doesn't matter a bit in taking what has to be the first step.

    Try to stay on topic.

My husband and I were talking about this today. We can't defeat an ideology but I pointed out that you can slow it down for awhile. In 732 AD Charles Martel took a definitive stand against the Muslim invaders and then slowly but surely the Europeans were able to drive them back out of Europe. It was 1300 years before they invaded Europe again. All it takes is resolve to stand up to them and push them back.

Europe needs that resolve as well as the US. We may talk about the power vacuum in the Mideast but the truth is there has been a power vacuum not just in the Mideast but the entire world since Jan 20th 2009. We must be willing to call out Islam for the violent religion that it is. If we are not even willing to call it what it is then they have no reason to think we will stand up to them. They know that liberal Europe and Obama will not call them out let alone hold them accountable for their violent actions that they do in the name of their religion.

...and what is that exactly? What is it that I am other than a lover of my Lord and my country and my family?

I could say the same about you. I know who and what you are. And it ain't the same as me.

Perhaps. But there's no need for the U.S. to rush in again and to carry the brunt of the cost in lives and money that we don't have. The Islamists are doing a fine job of creating a 'coalition' against them with their attacks and belligerence. Let things take their course, there's no need for the U.S. to 'take the lead' here. And I agree with you. We need to be talking with Putin.

Obama took office and started to lead from behind which has proved to be an utter failure.

Oh, baloney. Obama 'took office' because that's what Americans wanted. He promised to get us out of Iraq and he did just that. It's what the majority of the electorate wanted. It's why he was elected, because of the right wingnut interventionism that Americans were weary of. It amazes me that 'you people' won't accept that fact.

No he was elected because people wanted hope and change. (And the GOP put up a ridiculous RINO)
Well we have certainly had change and none for the better and at this point all we can do is hope we can get someone better in office who will have a huge mess on his hands thanks to Obama's horrible leadership or lack thereof.
