They are getting harder and harder to find but they are still out there.

Same thing happened to Nas, as when 1995 came out. 1977 almost disappeared!

Although those are actually easier to get a hold of than the 1984 NIV.

Any 1984 bibles still being published, or just all used now?

No longer published. If you find one it is either used or overstock.

But very inaccurate. I had already researched this out for myself, but I recently had to read Gordon Fee's classic commentary on 1 Cor., and he complained over and over about the inaccuracies.

And yet for a book for laymen, he highly recommended it as being the most accurate, even better than the NASB, KJV. Imagine that he could recommend the NJB and REB as being accurate, while not the others. I do not think he is reliable.

In his commentary on Isaiah, J. Alec Motyer regularly complains about the NIV translation—that is, specific translations made in Isaiah.

However it was the NIV84, not the 2011
Leon Morris does the same thing with the NIV in some of his writings.

Does anyone know of a link that lists the differences between the NIV 1984 and NIV 2011?

You will often hear me say that the NIV 2011 is my overall favorite Bible translation.

You will hear me say it is my "go to," or "every day" Bible translation.

However, you will never hear me say it is the "best" translation or the "most accurate" translation.

"Best" or "most accurate" is always a matter of opinion. My thoughts on the matter.

Just wish that they would have kept Jesus identified as being the Son of man, and not tried to have neutered down the masculine terms so much!

They probably would like the Niv 2011 even less!

    So ridiculous:

when Biblica removed the NIV1984 from the interweb in 2013, it provided an alternate way to access it...

    https://web.archive.org/web/20131026083311/http://www.biblica.com/niv/previous-editions/

Real convenient, isn't it? Although we've yanked the NIV1984 from every digital and online platform, you can still access it by traveling to Wheaton College where you can examine it in the archives reading room!

Unfortunately I'm still in the hospital now after emergency surgery for diverticulitis on Christmas Eve, so the book is out of reach. I do remember that Fee complained about the NIV often leaving out the contrastive Greek conjunction de.
