Did the OT Saints have the Spirit of God dwelling IN them?

I do not believe so. That is why I believe Scripture tells us that they "looked to" the Promise which was not fulfilled in their lifetime. The Spirit of God dwelling in men is associated with the kingdom of God (which is here, and not yet fulfilled in its fullest).

OT saints were saved but not born again* as now since Pentecost. With the Nation of Israel and Judea, the temple of God with them was an external place. The transition was the temple vail being torn from top to bottom. And at Pentecost the believers became the temple. And the Holy of Holies is where Jesus is at the right hand of the Father until His second appearing. Hebrews 9:12, Hebrews 9:24, Hebrews 9:28. *John 14:16. Yes, there are more explanations to this interpretation.

How could they have discernment unless the spirit of God was in them? Jesus asked Nickodemus you are a teacher and don't know this? They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ WITHIN them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ’s suffering and his great glory afterward.1 Peter 1:11

During OT times, the Spirit if God would come upon a person temporarily to enable them to accomplish God’s will. Holy Spirit would come and go as needed.

The permanent indwelling Spirit of God we know was given as a pledge promise from God that the testimony of Jesus is true and our faith in Him is effective for salvation.

    peace to you

And that happen at Pentecost too. I believe in regeneration of the OT or they would have no discernment no desire to follow God......they would be dead towards Him. Just my conclusions studying not trying to pick a fight just like discussing different views.

He was indwelt but the anointing and power of Gods spirit departed "lost it temperately".
Remember Jesus said it will come upon you AND be in you.......two separate things IMHO.

Glad that you are back! I think Moses and Noah are another two examples.

If not the indwelling of the Spirit it has to still be the work of the Spirit. This was prior to God sending the Spirit as a "helper", so something had to be different. Peter was revealed truth by the Spirit prior to this "sending" of the Spirit as well.

I believe God created in them a new heart and a new spirit by His Holy Spirit, but I do not believe they all had the Holy Spirit dwelling in them the same way that believers since Pentecost have.

Later Daniel entered (whose name is Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and IN whom there is a spirit of the holy gods). I recounted the dream for him as well, 5:11 There is a man in your kingdom who has WITHIN him a spirit of the holy gods. In the days of your father, he proved to have insight, discernment, and wisdom like that of the gods. King Nebuchadnezzar your father appointed him chief of the magicians, astrologers, wise men, and diviners. 12 Thus there was found IN this man Daniel, whom the king renamed Belteshazzar, an extraordinary spirit, knowledge, and skill to interpret dreams, explain riddles, and solve difficult problems. Now summon Daniel, and he will disclose the interpretation.” 13 So Daniel was brought in before the king. The king said to Daniel, “Are you that Daniel who is one of the captives of Judah, whom my father the king brought from Judah? 14 I have heard about you, how there is a spirit of the gods IN you, and how you have insight, discernment, and extraordinary wisdom. 6:3 Now this Daniel was distinguishing himself above the other supervisors and the satraps, for he had an extraordinary spirit. In fact, the king intended to appoint him over the entire kingdom. To me many scripture indicate the Spirit live within them or they would have NO discernment.

    How does this fit in?

Have ye not known that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit in you, which ye have from God? and ye are not your own, for ye were bought with a price; glorify, then, God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

Had they been bought with a price?

God said the Lamb was slain before the foundation of the world. Jesus told his disciples he was going to go and create the place (this earth) that they knew and were familiar with. So yes. The Atonement was made 1990 years ago physically. It happened before this physical earth was actually created. It happened because God Himself came at the time He chose in God's Will and Plan, and did it before God literally created the physical universe. Time is God’s love. All of time is corporated in God’s Love. God does both actions inside (at any point) and outside at any point. God can change in physical reality. God does not change outside of God’s creation of physical reality. God’s love is the ability to change in all aspects of His creation. We can only move forward in time. Of course God can move any human anywhere and any time.

From before the foundation of the world God's children were chosen, adopted, elected and predestined to redemption and reconciliation with God.
    They were saved.
    They were born again.
Though they had not seen the redemption of their souls, they were gifted faith in the promise.

You're seriously conflating the two when they're NOT even the same.

It's NOT 'born again', but 'born from above', like as 'Jerusalem above is our mother'.

And yes, every saint that ever was, is, or will be, is born from above, born of the Spirit, born of God, born from Jerusalem above.

    We, as Isaac:

26 and the Jerusalem above is the free-woman, which is mother of us all,
27 for it hath been written, `Rejoice, O barren, who art not bearing; break forth and cry, thou who art not travailing, because many are the children of the desolate -- more than of her having the husband.`
28 And we, brethren, as Isaac, are children of promise,
29 but as then he who was born according to the flesh did persecute him according to the spirit, so also now; Gal 4 YLT

Glorious things are spoken of Her, the city of God, the mother of us all:

2 Jehovah loveth the gates of Zion More than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah
4 I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon as among them that know me: Behold, Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia: This one was born there.
5 Yea, of Zion it shall be said, This one and that one was born in her; And the Most High himself will establish her.
6 Jehovah will count, when he writeth up the peoples, This one was born there. Selah Ps 87

It behooves each and every one of us to be 'born from above':

3 Jesus answered and said to him, `Verily, verily, I say to thee, If any one may not be born from above, he is not able to see the reign of God;`
    7 `Thou mayest not wonder that I said to thee, It behoveth you to be born from above;
8 the Spirit where he willeth doth blow, and his voice thou dost hear, but thou hast not known whence he cometh, and whither he goeth; thus is every one who hath been born of the Spirit.` Jn 3 YLT

Born of God = born from above = born of the Spirit = child of Zion

13 who -- not of blood nor of a will of flesh, nor of a will of man but -- of God were begotten. Jn 1 YLT
