Before the foundation of the earth we were predestinated!
On and on Calvinists spew false claims devoid of any reference to scriptural support.

God the Father gave glory to God the Son before the foundation of the world, John 17:24
God the Father chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, Ephesians 1:4
God the Son was foreknown before the foundation of the world as the Lamb of God, 1 Peter 1:19-20

And yet again, Ephesians 1:4 cannot refer to individual elections because 1 Peter 2:9-10 precludes that we were chosen as a people before we were "not a people."

1Peter 2:9
But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.

This letter's audience included both Jews and Gentiles, thus the claim it was written exclusively to Gentiles, is simply a false claim. The extensive use of OT imagery supports the idea that a significant portion of the intended audience was Jewish. Obviously both Jews and Gentiles comprised the audience which had been "called out of darkness into His marvelous light."

Yet another claim without definition. Of course God intended to saved those He saves. Good Grief...

God did not choose individuals for salvation before creation, 1 Peter 2:9-10.

God chooses individuals for salvation through faith in the truth, thus during our lifetime. 2 Thessalonians 2:13

Christ's death heals those God places into Christ and nobody else. Christ died for all humankind, to provide the means of salvation (propitiation) but only those placed into Christ by grace through faith are saved.
So God is clueless about who he will choose until the individual demonstrates faith, which then activates God to choose them.

Let me say that you have concocted quite a cocktail there Van.

Christs death heals them He died for, brings about their Salvation 1 Pet 2:24

24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

According to 1 Pet 2:24 how were the believers healed ?

On and on the Calvinists run from the scriptures cited and appeal to absurdity.
Did anyone claim God is not all knowing? Nope so yet more obfuscation.
Did anyone claim our faith "activates God? Nope, God alone chooses whether to credit a person's faith or not.

On and on folks, they ignore verse after verse, and offer obfuscation after obfuscation. Do not be led astray by the clever stories of men.

Right, I am discussing Biblical doctrine, and not the unpublished claims of an individual. Thus to the extent you advocate Calvinist doctrine, as found in published sources, my comments address your view.

Calvinists believe God is all knowing, and that salvation is all of God and not of those being saved. I certainly agree.

Again, you don't address me. You excuse things by bringing up a 500 year old dead man.

Folks, note this Calvinist is changing the subject to find fault with me. This is all they have, run from the scriptures cited and never acknowledge their position is untenable.

Therefore those called into His marvelous light were once not a people chosen for God's own possession, therefore they could not have been chosen individually before creation, before they lived without receiving mercy. It is a lock

Except THIS IS NOT THE CALVINISM VS ARMINIANISM DEBATE SECTION!

The questions discussed in THIS topic in the BAPTIST THEOLOGY AND BIBLE STUDY SECTION are:

1 Peter 2:24

Question 1: Now what do think stripes mean here ?
Question 2: And what do you believe healed is here ?

Get with the program or go to the C&A Debate area.
(quit turning EVERY topic into an argument over Calvinism).

If we cannot discuss the topic because of one relentless troll on an ANTI-CALVINIST tirade, then would the moderators please, just shut it down.
