What is translated "a choice" is the same Greek word elsewhere translated "elect." Check the Blue letter Bible dot Org interlinear on line. Strong's G1588.

 

Rom 8.33

 

The Israel of God are the circumcised, the "them" are not which are not the Jewish believers in Christ.

You're wrong False doctrine is false when you place your own ideas in it. You said "I will only speak for myself. The gospel is the God-given means of bringing the elect to salvation" It is not just for the elect that is false which makes the whole sentence false. Scripture does not say Salvation is just for the elect.

Well friend, "as" you are insisting, Colossians 1:11-13, "Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, . . ." Gentiles are to do but are not elect. We do not agree. And it seems my friend @Iconoclast chooses to believe the whole body of Christ is Israel.

 

I truly feel sorry for those who add to the gospel Yet I refuse to believe in assumptions. The Calvinist assume all of there doctrines, Not only this but they are convinced I'm lost to Salvation anyway. Because Iconoclast disagrees with me does not impress me to believe in his theories.I admit I'm not perfect yet I'm not stupid either. Many here believe in Gentiles being elect and that you have to be elect to be saved. They are unable to prove they are in fact elect as they claim. They are unable to prove total depravity. They are unable to prove they are saved before Salvation. They try to prove it but when we look closer we find.it isn't really proof at all. It's just there adding and taking away of scripture.

Arminians came out of Calvinism to a degree but not entirely. I just do not accept anything that came from Augustine. When I first came here they all called me Arminian. How ignorant is that?. They told me that Calvinism and Arminianism were the only true churches. Typical Catholic doctrine. Exclusivity. Election for Gentiles is an elitist club really not a doctrine which makes Christ a liar in that he respects no man.. Calvinist all think they deserve God's respect even though they deny it

Indeed, as we are all now saved into the Israel of God thru same Lord Jesus and same Holy Spirit!
