The work of the Holy Spirit is to bring conviction, regeneration, and saving faith to the elect in Christ!

    [QUOTE="MB, post: 2737880, member:]
Nothing that Augustine ever wrote. Even if he quotes scripture, you don't accept it because Augustine wrote it.
MB, out of curiosity, how well read are you regarding Augustine's writings?
Ultimately, however, Augustine is a red herring. The question isn't whether anyone accepts a different Christians writing, the question is whether one accepts what the Bible says.

    Who? Any documentation?

    Who? Any documentation?

Are you referring to Roman Catholic theology held within their catechism or are you referring to the Universal Church...catholic?

This is a curious statement since MB claims only Jews are elect. That seems pretty exclusive.

The second statement about Calvinists is just venting a strong prejudice and bias with zero substance or truth to the assertion.

It's pretty clear from this post that nothing beneficial can come from dialogue. Such a closed mind can only be opened by the King of Kings.

    MB, I wish you well.

The Calvinist views are based on Scripture. You must deal with the Scriptures that are used to show their interpertation is in err.

Let's get to some basics. Jews constitute a small fraction of humanity. Anyone who is not a Jew is a Gentile. You are a member of the latter group. The Lord purchased people for God from every tribe, language, people and nation with His blood. (see Rev. 5:9;7:9 and elsewhere in the Bible).
Those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life are the elect (Rev. 13:8; 20:12,15; 21;27).
The elect are those God has chosen before the foundation of the world. Go to Romans 8:28 to 39 to understand more. Read Ephesians 1:4 --14. See also 2 Thess. 2:13,14.

    2 Timothy 1:9
who saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was granted to us in Christ Jesus from all eternity.

Don't you know that Paul, though a Jew became an Apostle to the Gentiles?

    Titus 1:1
Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God's elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness ---
    1Peter 1:1
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God's elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia.

Do yourself a favor. Get a bible concordance or use Bible Gateway. Search for the word elect in the epistles. You will be surprised how many times it occurs. But there are sister words too such as chosen. the called, the Church etc.

Only circumcision that counts is that of the heart performed by the Lord!

An election requires at least two choices and the majority of votes wins the election. God first chose the least of all peoples to be His people. Those people were the Jews. not Gentiles.

    First this is
Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Notice this verse isn't about the elect but the lost.

This is what Rev 20:12 says.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
This says nothing about the elect.

I believe you need to actually read what you post
    Rev 20: 15 says this
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

No where does any of these verses support your claim that only the elect will be saved No where do they say all who's names are written in the Lambs book of life are elect.
Give me something that actually proves your theory.

No we aren't.. We are talking about God's elect. In order to elect there is always at least two options which means there is no such thing as Particular election. There is no such thing as elect Gentiles in the Bible. Other wise. Gentiles are all called though being called does not mean elect. There also is no such requirement in the Bible that says only the elect will be saved.

I would expect nothing less from an Arminian who supports Calvinism. You wanted to know about a video I mentioned It's called
    ARMINIUS WAS A CALVINIST
This is not a link you'll have to go to you tube and type that title in the search box.
