Why should they be?

There are millions of very poor Christians and thousands of very poor pastors around the world

 

I bet that percentage wise, Mac takes far less money out of his church than most of pastors who criticize him take.

For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

 

We are told to live MODEST lives

 

There is a lot of GREED in Christianity. Like Bibles being sold for £80! Which are out of any copyright

 

This is for all Christians

1 Timothy 2:9

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

 

Does that say a pastor had to be poor? No. It does not.

Sounds like you are trying to justify christian leaders being mega rich. Where do they get their money from? The members of their church!

This verse applies to ALL believers

Compared to some, I am wealthy.
Compared to some, I am a pauper.

 

No. It does not. All believers should be modest, but this verse in particular pertains to women.

I said scripture does not prohibit it. By rules of debate, I do not prove a negative. The burden falls on the person holding to an affirmative to state the affirmative evidence that refutes the negative claim.
