You might look at this. What Jesus told him, in John 3:3, was essentially what Jesus said in another way, as in Mark 10:15. So Nicodemus' question, in John 3:4 fits both statements which Jesus said. This is very important understand.I think the point is that no one seeks God in a way that would really result in coming to Christ in saving faith. Nicodemus i a good example because we have it in John 3. He obviously was seeking God in a sense but had absolutely no understanding of what he needed. And Jesus flat out told him that he had to be born again. So Nicodemus, probably an example of naturalOk man at his absolute best, educated in the scriptures, was totally ineffective by himself in truly finding God. Salvation really is all of God.
By Thomas R. SchreinerWell, regeneration takes place after faith. And of course one has the faith after regeneration. This fact does not prove regeneration precedes faith.Conversion occurs when sinners turn to God in repentance and faith for salvation.

Yet what Jesus had said prior to this and the other two quotes included children too young to believe.6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
Your position is a dead-end of an argument, an argument from silence.Yet what Jesus had said prior to this and the other two quotes included children too young to believe.
The teaching is that is effectual.John 6:44
For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up.
that word draw means to “drag”
like a water blister full of water out of a well
It is everyone born of the Spirit, not people without the saving grace of the Spirit.Your position is a dead-end of an argument, an argument from silence.
Nothing is going to contradict jn. 3:8..8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
No. My position on the matter of the new birth is not affected by this truth. The fact that you think it does means you do not understand my view.Your position is a dead-end of an argument, an argument from silence.
Nothing is going to contradict jn. 3:8..8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
I met Schreiner. He's a super nice guy!
