    Who cares?
The fact is that government is put in place to deal with criminals and protect citizens. Citizens are responsible to follow the law and respect law enforcement. This is especially true for Christians who should be the most exemplary citizens, because they represent their King who suffered unto death so that they could live eternally with Him

God would not allow David to build the temple because David was a man of blood.
Israel was in covenant with God to secure the land. Every man was in the army, except the Levites who were the priests.
1 Peter 2 tells us that we are priests (the first born, the Levites, of the New Covenant. We have no need to wield weapons.

And what does Law Enforcement tell people to do. Get CCW, arm yourselves, defend yourselves. Police come to take the report well after the time the crime has taken place. Police don't walk around unarmed now do they. They know that they will not be there when the crime is taking place, and they know civilians, which is what police are also, are better defending themselves than not. When they see someone broken in the hospital, or murdered, or raped, or maimed , they know that had they been armed, it might have made a difference. That's why the vast majority of Police are pro second amendment, unlike you. Police do not have the mentality of a slave, which is what you have. We have the right to keep and bear arms, whether you like it or not. It is legal for us to have pistols, rifles, and shotguns, whether you like it or not. We can, and do defend ourselves with rifles, shotguns, and pistols, whether you like it or not. The plain fact that you have abandoned your obligation to help your neighbors, loved ones and your fellow citizens show that you are the one who is in the wrong. May God convict you for aiding convict's and criminals. You are their best friend. No doubt they would agree with you, except when it was convenient for them to defend themselves. Even then, they are more right than you.

It is OK for government to use the gun to defend a citizen, but not OK for a citizen to use a gun to defend himself?

    Romans 13:1-14

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

It seems you both openly reject God's command on this issue and falsely claim I worship government instead of God. Your slander is noted.

Logical fallacy called the black and white fallacy. It is a common tool used by those who do not have a solid argument to support their position and is often dependent on the hope that others, on which they use this logical fallacy, are ignorant of logical fallacies. Most on this board are not. I suggest you search the internet for a better but failing argument. Maybe others will not know what you are doing.

You keep looking for an excuse to justify yourself.

Who do you trust, God or guns?

Do you worship God or guns?

Read it and recognize it as a question.

When we hold tightly to something it indicates an idol in our lives. Corrie TenBoom once said, “Hold everything in your hands lightly, otherwise it hurts when God pries your fingers open.

So when you cannot refute what I say you continue to use the same logical fallacy. Good job!

This is false. Has no support. And lacks intelligent reasoning skills.

I trust God. Yes I read the Bible. God also led me into firearms. Caused me to fellowship with excellent firearms people. Guns are not evil. They are tools, used righteously by most, evily by a few.

You have a unrighteous attitude towards firearms, which God knows we need. Why don't you like them? Come clean and tell.

Guns are not evil. Every person who uses a gun is by their very nature...evil. Guns have only one function, which is to kill a living being, created by God.

I am glad you have fellowship with Christians. You could fellowship with them without ever firing a gun.

God has allowed guns in this world (just as he has allowed nuclear bombs). Law enforcement is given the task of protecting the populace. I suggest you join the sheriff's department or the local police department. They are in need of officers.

    Agreed!
Here we disagree. I use my firearms for practice and target shooting. Recreational. True some are for concealed carry and self defense. If I come across a shooter killing inocent people I will try to help, which is certainly God's will. It is not God's will for me to hide my head in the sand and ignore the victims. True if the police were on scene they would handle it.
True. Likewise you may come across some Christians who could teach you and your friends how to handle firearms safely. You may enjoy them responsibly.
Law officers come usually after the crime has been committed to fill out a report and turn it over to detectives. They inforce the law. Rarely can they protect people.

Sure you can go to a range and shoot. It's purpose, however, is to discipline your aim to be deadly when pointing it at a living, God created, being.

I had firearms training (I grew up in God's country where there were more animals than humans and nearly everyone hunted.) I tried pheasant hunting once. I was bored silly and found no thrill in shooting at a bird. Since God has farmers doing the work, I choose to go to the store and buy my bird. I do not begrudge a person hunting game for the family. This is legal and generally safe.

Become a sheriff's deputy. Walk the beat. Be the person who is there if bad happens. If you really want to run to the fight, join law enforcement.

I didn't like dove hunting. I missed almost always, which didn't bother me. I am not a vigilante or anything close to it. But I am under obligation to defend those who cannot defend themselves. I have no interest in joining law enforcement, one because I am almost retirement age.
