But you are not answering the questions.

Do you agree with your Pope that Priests can bless same s:x couples?

What do you think of those Catholic groups that are resisting because the statement is ambiguous and confusing?

If the Pope speaks the words of Jesus, why is the statement causing so much confusion?

    peace to you

The truth is in the scriptures, not Catholic traditions and dogma.

This guy in brainwashed so I doubt you are going to get a straight answer. All things that are right lay in being a Roman Catholic, at least that is what I was taught.

Right. When the Pope is acting in his official capacity as the Vicar of Christ (as when he released this statement on blessing same s:x couples) is he infallible?

If so, why are so many Catholics refusing to comply?

Our Catholic brothers do not appear to be willing to answer directly.

    peace to you

Correct. When you have a group of people literally claiming to have authority to damn you to hell or bless you into heaven, they do what all mankind has always done with power (real or imagined), they abuse the folks they exercise power over.

I thank God my only High Priest is Jesus and He is the one that controls my destiny.

    peace to you

Correct. And when you add books that are not scripture, that leads to serious error

    Will you answer my questions?

Do you agree with the Popes decision to allow priests to bless same s:x couples as long as it’s not called marriage?

What do you think of the Catholic groups that claim the statement is ambiguous and confusing and therefore are refusing to support it?

If the Pope is speaking the Words of Jesus, why is this statement causing so much confusion?

    peace to you

I’m waiting for more clarification on “couples”.

It took years to see Vatican 2 work through practically, so there is plenty of time.

    Cathode,

As a Catholic, what is the difference between blessing such a union and performing a ceremony?

I am asking because I don't know your customs and am not familiar with the concept (I take it blessing unions separate from performing weddings is something common in the Catholic Church).

Is there any question that the statement refers to same s:x couples? Are you suggesting it might be referring to monogamous friends that happen to be the same s:x?

plenty of time? When was Vatican 2 and how long did it take t “work through practically”?

Was there anything in Vatican 2 as controversial as blessing same s:x couples?

    peace to you

Blessings are done all the time by priests, blessing people, soldiers and police for instance, pets, sacramentals, cars, firearms, homes, etc, etc you name it.

These don’t rise to the level of some kind of solemnity.

I suspect that in regards to all this. Blessings may be given if people present as a couple, but as with all blessings it’s always something bestowed on the individual person or thing.

That’s why I’m not concerned as many others seem to be. I had my same action 44 magnum and 30/30 rifles blessed but I don’t consider them man and wife.

If this causes a rush of homosexuals or even militant activist homosexuals to come and get blessed in The of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the jokes on them. Because blessings are also an exorcism and it may reduce the nasty demonic load on them enough to receive the grace of conversion.
I think it will cause many to start manifesting, seen it many times before.

    Thanks. I was curious.

If blessing a rifle helps, I may need to get a few fishing rods blessed (by a Protestant, of course....a RCC blessing on a Baptist's fishing rod may backfire) ;) .

Thank you for being honest. You support blessing same s:x couples because you believe it will exorcise demonic influence out of them.

IMO, it is a great example of bad doctrine, not supported by scripture, resulting in decisions that bring great shame to God and give the enemies of God great occasion to blaspheme His name.

    peace to you

It is an opinion I share as well. The RCC is replete with bad doctrine not supported by scripture.

Blessings are imparted to individual persons or objects, with the exception of sacramental marriage between a man and a woman where the two have become one, then the blessing affirms the union in common.

If there are misuses of these blessings to try to legitimise gay unions as I am sure some will do, then you are correct, it will be a blasphemy.
This is when the blessing becomes a terrible curse on all involved.

“If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,' says the LORD Almighty, 'I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings.”

Blessings are imparted in God’s Holy Name, to misuse it like this is to take His Name in vain.

Blaspheming The Holy Name, draws down the most succulent and exquisite punishments directly from God.

I see this sort of thing as bringing about the fulfilment of the Apocalypse and we have already seen the beginning of the tribulation in October.
We will see the acceleration of events this year one after the other.
