Is This really Lordship Salvation view then?

True, you don't know who the rescuer is who saves you from a burning building. However, the bible says that to be saved in the biblical sense, one must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. You cannot believe on Him if you don't know Who He is. Yes, to the natural man. When we are saved it is by...

Is it okay to use the NKJV?

I agree. There are many words and phrases that mean something completely different now to what they mean in the KJV. Some examples are: prevent, carriages, suffer, conversation, replenish and closet.

Is This really Lordship Salvation view then?

But who is this Jesus who isn't Lord? How can you believe in the biblical Jesus if you don't know Who He is? Being Lord is an integral part of Who He is. I should make clear that I don't mean that a sinner has to understand all the theological details of His Lordship in order to be saved...

Harm of following "Free Grace" Theology

That is very helpful. Like you, I believe that grace must be free, or it isn't grace. But it seems from what you say that some use the term "Free Grace Theology" to mean that repentance and good works do not necessarily accompany salvation. I think the term "Free Grace" has a meaning...

is there such a thing as a 'Baptist Eschatology" Church statement of belief?

The verse you mention says: “And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Da 12:2 NKJV) It doesn't specify whether it will b a resurrection of just the soul, or a bodily resurrection. Anyway, sorry I...

Do You Know the Baptist Distinctives?

Ah! All is clear now. Thanks. You are referring to the so-called "Canons of Dort", not the basic 5 points themselves. Thanks again.

John R. Rice and the KJV

Unless "free grace" means something different where you are than the fact that salvation is by God's grace, and that grace is free, then I don't think easy believism describes free grace theology. I have always seen easy believism used to refer to the idea that people are saved by saying the...

When The Enemy Tells The Truth

Yes, and another example of this is: ““Who can forgive sins but God alone?”” (Mr 2:7 NKJV)

is there such a thing as a 'Baptist Eschatology" Church statement of belief?

Matthew specifies that their bodies were raised: “51 Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split, 52 and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; 53 and coming out of the...

Is This really Lordship Salvation view then?

I have never been sure what precisely is meant by "Lordship Salvation." If it means believing that Jesus is Lord, and that those who claim to believe in Him are to obey Him, then I agree with it. (If it means something more than that, then I would need to know what the "something more" is...

Do You Know the Baptist Distinctives?

Where does it say that? The first of the five points of Calvinism is about total depravity, and says nothing about who is and who is not elect. Like you, I do not believe that children are elected because of their parents' faith.

Is it okay to use the NKJV?

    Thanks for letting me know.

    Sunday School

I think this is another case of something that depends where you live. Here in the UK, Sunday Schools are for children. Robert Raikes started a Sunday School back in 1780, not as an outreach of the church, but to provide a basic education for children who otherwise would have had none...

Is it okay to use the NKJV?

Can you give some examples of where the NKJV does anything based on "ct and stuff", as you call it?

What Does Revelation 18:21-24 Teach Us about Acceptable Instrumental Music?

The context is very specific: “21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw [it] into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22 “The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall...

    Self defense and security teams?

I suppose it depends to an extent on conditions where you live. Here in the UK for instance, nobody is allowed to work with children, whether in the context of a church, a secular youth club, a school, or whatever, without first having been vetted, not by a security company, but by the State...

is there such a thing as a 'Baptist Eschatology" Church statement of belief?

I don't know what the numbers are, but I do know the most of the Baptists I am acquainted with personally are amil.
  18. David Lamb

is there such a thing as a 'Baptist Eschatology" Church statement of belief?

It cannot be, because one of the Baptist distinctives is the autonomy (under Christ) of each local church. Among Baptists/Baptist church, there is a wide variety of eschatological positions - pre-mil, amil, etc.

Do we Calvinists really in Fullest sense deny the Trinity then?

Surely there are plenty of Calvinists who are not Baptists?

What does Scripture say about the King James Bible?

I do try to do that. I only posted the question because I wondered what biblical basis Konstantin thought he had for his notion that Scripture says that the last revision of the King James Bible was made by men of God in 1612. As you said, the bible doesn't mention translations of itself anywhere.
