    Women Pastors?

For those who consider it her hair, do you require it to be long hair?

    Satisfaction Atonement

To me, the least objectionable, least heinous Latin/Western theory is the Governmental Theory. But it is somewhat nonsensical. I don't accept it.

    Women Pastors?

Do all of you who oppose women pastors based on what you suppose Paul taught, do you require your women to wear a head covering in church?

    Satisfaction Atonement

A brief comment: I view Anselm's Satisfaction Theory as somewhat less objectionable than PSA, and if I had to choose between the theories of Aquinas and Anselm, I'd reluctantly choose Aquinas. But I reject all theories developed in the West, PSA being the most heinous, because they totally...

    Annihilation

You make some good points. I think there is a great gap in opportunity depending on people's life circumstances. And I think God is much more merciful and just than a lot of Christians I've met.

    Annihilation

Would you agree that God is more just, merciful, and loving than any human being?

    Annihilation

I think there is a difference between a harsh judgement and an unjust or unreasonable judgement.

    Annihilation

In considering the three views of eternal hell, universalism, and annihilation, it has seemed to me that eternal hell shortchanges God on mercy and justice; universalism on justice and human free will, but that annihilation encompasses both justice and mercy. Neither eternal hell nor...

    Identity

I didn't have a 'Christian' reaction to some of you. I regret that.

    Annihilation

I wasn't meaning to imply that people here were afraid of reading opposing viewpoints.

    Annihilation

I like to read different viewpoints, even widely divergent and opposite ones. I'm not afraid of doing that.

    Annihilation

Well, I won't get into it here, but original meanings of words matter to me.

    Annihilation

Good info there on contrasting viewpoints.

I've had days, moments, where I wished I'd never been born. But your post is a good one.

    Ample refutation of PSA

https://files.therebelgod.com/AtonementFathersEQ.pdf https://files.therebelgod.com/FathersAbolishRetribution.pdf I posted these two articles again because I implore members to read them thoroughly to the end. They are rather long, but they are excellent. They deal with PSA and the ECF, and...

You say that with a certainty that I don't believe is warranted.

    Annihilation

Here is an excellent article on Christian mortalism, even if it is on Wikipedia. Read all the way to the end -- fascinating. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_mortalism

Yes, I know what the Sadducees and Pharisees believed. But Jewish beliefs, as a whole, were more varied.

    Annihilation

Lots of good posts here, and some good and valid points made, I believe. I am still undecided about what I believe. But I think I still lean toward annihilation. I believe the Jews didn't believe in the soul's immortality. So, where did that come from in Christianity -- the scriptures only? My...

    If you weren't Baptist...

I might be with you on that -- less extreme Pentecostals, or maybe some form of Wesleyanism, although I'd have a problem with infant baptism.
