    What other denominations

Friend, don't you think we all need to study more?

    Women pastors

For those here who are opposed to women pastors and who base your opposition on what Paul wrote: If you do not make your women wear a head covering, then you are choosing to follow Paul only in what you agree with. You are accepting his teachings in part. You are choosing what you agree with...

    What other denominations

Just to say that I'm glad you are here. I don't agree with your Catholicism, but I sense the Spirit of Christ in you.

    Women pastors

Well, it's worse than I thought. Not only can you not comprehend what I'm saying, you cannot even comprehend what you're saying! And in your second paragraph, you twist my position. You are one confused individual. My authority on this issue, as well as any others, is what I have been...

If there were no Baptist churches...

I'm glad I'm not in that position because where I live, if I had to have more than two, I might have to get some raccoons and/or possums. :)

    Women pastors

Your words: "It is a typical liberal non-argument..." and 'someone like you will say "do you wear a mixed garment, or eat shellfish?" ' I'll re-post what I originally wrote about Pentecostals and Baptists on this issue, since it seems necessary: "I wonder how Baptists feel about...

    Women pastors

Comprehension problems again? :) I bring up Pentecostals as proof that the issue is not a conservative vs liberal one, an argument I have seen a million times. But I do not wish to fight, and I hold no ill will toward you.

If there were no Baptist churches...

Yes, at least with Baptist polity, that would be an option. All you would need is two people, I guess. Is that right?
  9. N

    Women pastors

What I posted is legitimate, even if you can't comprehend it, or mis-characterize it. And I'd like to see you confront a Pentecostal with a phony charge of liberalism. Laughable.

If there were no Baptist churches...

where you live but only baby-baptizing churches of different denominations, would you just stay home, or go to one of these? If the latter, which one? I guess I'm asking that if you could only choose such a church, which denomination would you choose? Which would be the least objectionable to...

    Women pastors

What a lie, typical of "someone like you". You don't know anything about me; thus, your statement is highly presumptuous. It is a deflection and misrepresentation to fall back on the lie that those who favor women pastors are liberals. Some are, but as I have already referenced, Pentecostals...

    Women pastors

I think it is more complicated than that. To me, there are at least four questions that need to be asked? Does the order of creation, and the fall, factor in here? Why do some follow Paul in one area but not in others? Did Paul mean for his teaching to be followed by all in all times and places...

Propitiation do you know what it means?

Presuppositions??!! You mean like what you inherited from your Western-mindset ancestors, the ones who invented PSA. The God I worship would not torture, punish, and kill His Son to supposedly appease some kind of need in His character -- wrath, etc. Sounds more like a pagan god to me, or a...

Propitiation do you know what it means?

Thanks for clarifying. I don't disagree with what you said here. I think it is mostly correct. Were I Baptist, I would fit the General Baptist camp, not the Particular. But I do not affirm the Mennonite aversion to oaths, or affirmation of pacifism. That's two areas of disagreement between the...

I wasn't addressing you in regard to context; I was replying to canadyjd.

My apologizes. I had forgotten a previous post of yours in which you referenced the context. Things are moving so fast here, I can't keep up!

Propitiation do you know what it means?

After reading these threads, I am glad that one Western "Tradition" is no longer practiced -- killing other Christians because of their beliefs. I think Baptists and Anabaptists are the only ones who didn't do that.

Propitiation do you know what it means?

I understand what it is -- an abhorrent, non-scriptural doctrine invented by a murderer.

Propitiation do you know what it means?

That might be appropriate for some, especially some I've met on forums. :)
