The Council of Trent and its support of paganism.

They don't have a "secret" meaning. They mean what they say.

Who is the 'Rock', Peter or Christ?

Sure he was. We see this in passages like Matt. 16:18-19, Luke 22:31, John 21:15-19 and more. Irenaeus in the Second Century documented ALL of the Popes from his time all the way back to Peter, which was a just over 100 years.

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

And WHO said it was about a "physical building"?? Christ built His Church - and MEN in the 16th century decided that they would create other churches to be "better" than his. True reformation comes from within - NOT from inventing new sects . . .

Who is the 'Rock', Peter or Christ?

And WHO is saying he wasn't??

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

Jesus built ONE Church. He didn't build tens of thousands of disjointed and perpetually-splintering churches that ALL teach different doctrines yet ALL claim to have been "led" by the Holy Spirit. MEN have been doing that since the 16th century . . .

Who is the 'Rock', Peter or Christ?

Nobody said He isn't. The question was about who is the "Rock" of Matt. 16:18 - and that is Peter. Abraham is the "Rock" of Isaiah 51:1-2.

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

Really? Where did he say that - in context?

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

Okay - since you don't believe it's the FIRST century Church (Catholic Church) - which Protestant denomination do YOU believe is the "real" Church? Evidence, please . . .

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

We have a FREE will until the day we DIE. That's why we are told that the one who endures to the END will be saved (Matt. 24:13). We can choose to stay with Christ or walk away like the Prodigal Son and Judas did. Don't forget ALL of those believers who walked away in John 6:66 and returned to...

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

This is absolutely FALSE. We are saved by God's grace - by the BLOOD of Christ shed on Calvary. But we are saved THROUGH the Church He built (Matt. 16:18), which is the FULLNESS of Christ (Eph. 1:22-23) and the pillar and foundation of Truth (1 Tim. 3:15).

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

WRONG. Jesus said that nobody could snatch them from His hand (John 10:28). We can walk away by our own volition.

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus (Outside the Church There is No Salvation) - which states: 846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers? Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body...

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

WRONG. Read the brown text below EACH passage. For example - these TWO passages, where the word "Epignosis" is explained: 2 Peter 2:20-22 For if they, having escaped the defilements of the world through the KNOWLEDGE of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, again become entangled and overcome by...

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

Nope. A variation of that inaccurate statement comes from the teaching of Extra Ecclesiam Nulla Salus.
  15. M

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

Sorry - but the Bible disagrees with you. First of all - the idea that you DON'T have to repent of future sins is a Protestant invention and completely UNBIBLICAL. Secondly - the people in Acts 2 hadn't yet repented or been Baptized - so they were NOT justified. Finally - the NT is filled...

Who is the 'Rock', Peter or Christ?

In Matt. 16:18 - Peter is the "Stone" (Kepha) - period. Jesus didn't speak Greek to His Apostles. He spoke Aramaic. The word he used for Peter here is "Kepha", which means "Stone". It doesn't mean "small stone or "pebble" - just "STONE". Jesus said to him: "You are Kepha and on this Kepha I...

The Council of Trent and its support of paganism.

That's NOT what the Bible says . . . 1 Pet. 3:21-22 his prefigured baptism, which SAVES you now. It is not a removal of dirt from the body but an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with...

    Reformers' interpretations of the AntiChrist

WRONG. The Thief benefited from his desire to follow Christ. He couldn't be Baptized because he was "busy" at the time being executed. He is the first example of what the Church deems as the Baptism of Desire. "WHATEVER YOU bind or loose . . ." (Matt. 16:19, Matt. 18:15-18, Luke 10:16, John...

    The False Doctrine of Purgatory

The Blood of Christ atoned for ALL of the sins of the world - unless your chosen type of Protestantism is Calvinism, which believes that He ONLY atoned for the sins of the "elect." Once again - your ignorance of the doctrine of Purgatory is the problem - not the doctrine itself. Purgatory not...

    The False Doctrine of Purgatory

As usual - your post is filled with a mixture of facts and outright LIES. Let's begin with your LIE #1 above in RED. At NO time was the "selling" of indulgences or time in Purgatory ever sanctioned by the Church. These were ABUSES that were condemned by the Church. This was especially...
