There is no Millennium according to Jesus

That seems to be a bit of a stretch. Jesus is warning about adding to or taking away from the prophecy of the Book, not about the Millennium.

    Real Soteriology 101

I especially like the illustration from the resurrection of Lazarus. There was nothing he could do to come back to life. Jesus had to call him, and Lazarus could not resist His call.

There is no Millennium according to Jesus

I believe that we are in the "1,000 year" (very long time) period of Satan's bounding. I'm not sure what to make of Revelation 20:7-8, where Satan is released from prison to deceive the nations. As an Amillennial Partial Preterist, I believe this probably points to events that have already...

There is no Millennium according to Jesus

If you don't mind my asking, what does this passage have to do with the Millennium?

There is no Millennium according to Jesus

I agree, but all the Scriptures you made reference to are about the Kingdom of God/Heaven. The Millennium is only mentioned in Revelation 20:1-10. I personally do not believe the 1,000 years in question when Satan is bound and the saints reign with Christ is a literal 1,000 year period. What...

    Literal Standard Version

First I've heard of it. While it looks interesting, I just sent the publishers a question. 2 Thessalonians 2:7, in speaking about the man of lawlessness and the one who restrains him, has capitalized "One" and "He". Presumably, this is because they believe the "restrainer" is the Holy Spirit...

    Veteran Identification Card

I took my DD 214 in to the Drivers License Bureau here in Texas, and they added "VETERAN" to my license. I did not need to provide any other proof.

    Jeopardy

IMO, Matt Amodio was an interesting champ. I've been catching up on Jeopardy via YouTube, as I've recently cut the cable and I don't receive local stations in my remote corner of Texas. I was surprised to learn from the news this morning that Matt finally lost, but I'll still watch the shows...

    Doctrine, and church membership

I must confess that one of the reasons that I joined my local Baptist church is the limited choices I have. It would irritate me if they focused heavily on their views of the End Times, as I hold a completely different view. I am fortunate to attend a church where I can voice my views and...

    Doctrine, and church membership

That can be a pretty big deal. Although I am a member of a Southern Baptist church, I lean toward the Reformed Theology (Calvinist) view regarding Limited Atonement. However, this is not a major deal to me, as I see it as a matter of interpretation. Whichever way it goes, we agree that we are...

    Doctrine, and church membership

Depends on the doctrine, and whether it's that big of a deal. If it was one of the essential doctrines of the Christian faith (e.g. the Deity of Christ, salvation by grace alone, the Resurrection of Christ, proclaiming the Gospel, and the fact that there is only one God). Other doctrines are...

    DISPENSATIONALISM

I stand corrected. The Jews were definitely privileged that Jesus came through their race, and it was the Jewish prophets who proclaimed God's message. Even though the Jews were privileged, they are saved the same way as Gentiles. That was what I meant by my comment. Neither circumcision...

    DISPENSATIONALISM

For once, I must actually agree with you, Brother. Thank you for the correction.

    DISPENSATIONALISM

Christians are the True Jews because we have been set free from the Law. Whether we refer to ourselves as Christians or Spiritual Israel is a matter of semantics. They are interchangeable terms. The point is that there is only one "people of God", and only one way to salvation - through...

Understanding the Mark of the Beast

How else would St. John write that the mark is three 6s? As simple as you did in your question. Who is it who's really getting tripped up over nothing? For someone who claims to take this passage literally, you are clearly changing what it literally says. The Bible was written using many...

    DISPENSATIONALISM

Both terms apply. While we are still Gentiles, we are the Spiritual Israel.

    DISPENSATIONALISM

Of course. The points of that passage are that the Gospel was preached to Israel first, and that the just (physical Jew and Gentile) are saved by faith. The other passages clearly teach that the "true Jew" is of the spirit, not by race or circumcision.

    DISPENSATIONALISM

Ephesians 2:11-22 teaches that the True Jews are those who follow Christ. This point is made very strongly in Romans 2:17-29. So, in this sense, Gentiles are called Jews. Other passages also use the term "spiritual Israel" to refer to those who have been "grafted in". The point is that there...

    The top 50 TV dads

I thought Lucas McCain (the Rifleman) should have been among the highest. I disagree with Newsmax's view of "Uncle Bill" from Family Affair as a great father figure. He was far too permissive and lax on discipline.

Understanding the Mark of the Beast

I appreciate your attitude regarding our disagreement. We should be able to discuss this as brothers and sisters in Christ, just as we are doing. Even the KJV spells it out the Number of the Beast in Revelation 13:18 as "Six hundred threescore and six", and the RSV which you used earlier...
