New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

If you want to continue this discussion on Baptism - move your thread to an open place where I have access - and I will engage you there.

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

This is a discussion/debate forum. Bring your case to the table. I do not read article or watch video links. Make your case here for ALL to read like I have - or why bother posting?

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Funny that you should use the word "cannibal" because that is precisely what the Romans accused the Early Church of because of their worship and consumption of the Eucharist. - Explain to me why Jesus didn't explain the "symbolism" to His Apostles like he always did - instead of simply asking...

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Ummm, I see that you "responded" to me on a thread that I do not have permission to respond because I am not Baptist: John 3:5 Is Not Requiring Baptism For Salvation How "brave" of you . . .

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Funny how you always respond with quick, hit-and-run posts, but you never stick around to explain your answers. WHY is that?

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Tie for a Bible lesson . . . In John 6:53, Jesus stated in no uncertain terms: “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the...

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

There was no Eucharist until the Last Supper either - but the Bread of Life Discourse in John 6 is ALL about the Eucharist.

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

I was asked about whether or not Catholics take being born again seriously and I responded with the Catholic answer. I don't mind staying on topic - but my response was challenged by somebody who didn't like it, so I let him know what the Bible had to say about it.

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Yes, it absolutely is. Explain to me what He meant in John 3:5 - if not Baptism.

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Of course we take being born again seriously. We are born again at Baptism, as Christ prescribes in John 3:5.

New survey: Only one-third of Catholics believe in Real Presence

Then why are the numbers of ALL Christian churches dwindling, hmmmm? What is happening in the Catholic Church is not exclusively a "Catholic" problem - but a problem of people becoming more secular.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Tell me what Church this DOES sound like then . . . Ignatius of Antioch Follow your bishop, every one of you, as obediently as Jesus Christ followed the Father. Obey your clergy too as you would the apostles; give your deacons the same reverence that you would to a command of God. Make sure...

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Where does the Bible say this? Chapter and Verse, please . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Actually - post #106 was linguistically spot-on. The language of the document would have been ludicrously redundant if "Catholic Church" has NOT been used as a proper noun - as a title.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

No - you haven't explained it. You haven't been able to refute the Catholic position on 1 Cor. 3:10-15. I've been waiting for a refutation that hasn't come.

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Then show me why it's so "idiotic". Making a claim is one thing - but proving it is another kettle of fish . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

There is NO difference. There is ONE Catholic Church - not tens of thousands of disjointed and perpetually-splintering Protestant sects of Catholicism - ALL teaching different doctrines yet ALL claiming to be "catholic". You can't have it both ways . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

The Catholic Church gets its name from the GREEK for “according to the whole” and “universal” - καθ ολης, which is pronounced “katah-holos”. In the 2nd century document, The Martyrdom of Polycarp, we see the word “Catholic” again – but this time, in a much clearer context. Speaking of the...

Ahhhhhh, yes - the final refuge of the truly desperate - cry, "Forgery!" So, it's come to this . . .

The Doctrine of Purgatory in Catholic Biblical Perspective

Protestant denominations are related to the Catholic Church. Unfortunately - they are self-separated from that ONE Church Christ built. It is an oxymoron to say you are Protestant and Catholic. It's like saying you are male AND female.
