    Study 2 Thessalonians 2:13

No I am not saying that. I am saying that they believed the doctrines of grace because they found them in the Scriptures, which is why, when they came to formulate the confessions of faith, they backed up every statement with Scripture, not with pagan philosophy, or even by quoting Augustine.

    Study 2 Thessalonians 2:13

You seem to be claiming an intimate knowledge of "those men." How else could you know with such apparent certainty that they "started with a Calvinist view and then looked for scripture that they thought supported that view?"

    Study 2 Thessalonians 2:13

And you seem to be denying the fact that the godly men who formulated the Calvinistic confessions of faith were careful to ensure that everything included was backed up with Scripture, not with pagan philosophy.

    Study 2 Thessalonians 2:13

But you are arguing in circles. You already believe the doctrines are false, based on pagan philosophy, so of course you will say that Augustine must have brought them in from paganism. Calvin backs up his teachings from Scripture, as do all the confessions of faith based on those doctrines...

Word in the NKJV that Make You Scratch Your Head.

Many of those words are in regular use in modern English here in the UK. Just a few examples: "He was dependable even in the face of adversity." "The ship ran aground in the storm." "She amended her speech to avoid offence." "The arrested man was of no fixed abode." "He was asked to...

If God is Not Sovereign, Then There is No Grace

Yes, He shall save, not "He shall make salvation a possibility."

    Study 2 Thessalonians 2:13

But people like me who believe the Doctrines of Grace do so because they find them in the bible. In your view, the bible passages we use don't hold water. Obviously that is so, because if you believed, as we do, that they do hold water, you would believe the Doctrines of Grace.

THIS is an Essentisl Tool for all KJVO to have and use now

Yes, I have come across the Blue Letter Bible before. It seems very useful. Thanks.

THIS is an Essentisl Tool for all KJVO to have and use now

Agreed, but first, you need to know that it is necessary to look up a particular word in a dictionary. A number of words and phrases have completely changed their meanings since the KJV translation was made. Why should we look up things like "prevent", "fetched a compass," and "carriages?" We...

    Missions Giving and Bible Translating

Here in the UK we have Grace Baptist Mission, which is not a missionary society in the traditional sense, but exists to help local church send their own missionaries, and to support missionaries sent by other churches. Their website is here: Grace Baptist Mission – Helping Churches Support...

New Book on the Doctrine of Scripture

I know that the Trinitarian Bible Society is KJVO, but isn't the Bible Society what used to be the British and Foreign Bible Society? If so, they are not KJVO. For example, they produced personal-sized editions of The Good News Bible.

    Number 666 explained

I am not sure whether you were replying to my post (Post 21), but if you were, I didn't meant that 666 is not explained. but that 666 is not the same as 313, as another poster had claimed.

    Number 666 explained

None of that explains how you made six hundred, three score and six into 313.

    Jesus cites, 2 Esdras 1:30

Encyclopaedia Britannica says: "Second Book of Esdras, apocryphal work printed in the Vulgate and many later Roman Catholic bibles as an appendix to the New Testament. The central portion of the work (chapters 3–14), consisting of seven visions revealed to the seer Salathiel-Ezra, was written...

    A Fool And A Judge?

....and of course, "vets" here in the UK are animal doctors, veterinary surgeons, not retired soldiers. :)

    I thought Baptists followed scripture

I wonder what doctrines you are thinking of that Baptists in general believe, that you say do not come from the bible? Baptism of believers? Autonomy of the local church? Separation of church and state? Something else? And how do the doctrines you have in mind disagree with what is in the...

    A Fool And A Judge?

Thanks for explaining. Not being American, and never having been in the armed forces, I had no idea before.
