    God's Not Dead

The thousands of churches that use WOTM are not going to throw it out. It would certainly be easier to throw out your opinion on the matter.

    God's Not Dead

The scriptures alone has the power to change lives and why I only open air preach using it. HOWEVER this is not to say that apologetics books are not valuable and cannot lead an atheist to Christ. How many have come to Christ as a result of the book "More than a Carptender?" by Josh McDowell...

    God's Not Dead

You know even John MacArthur wrote a book defending the Bible. Look when I open air preach I use nothing but the scripture because it alone has the power to change lives. However this is not to say that apologetic books are not valuable in defending the Bible, because they are. I am sure glad...

Old Earth vs. Young Earth Creationism

At least you appreciate books. However can the old earth creation model come from a literal reading of the scripture?

    God's Not Dead

No I would never use commentaries with an atheist. However, good apologetics books can make an atheist think. However only the Holy Ghost can convert the soul.

Old Earth vs. Young Earth Creationism

I pre-ordered this book (https://www.amazon.com/Creation-Evolution-Intelligent-Design-Counterpoints/dp/0310080975/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1510660873&sr=8-1&keywords=4+views+on+creation+and+evolution&dpID=51OLsK6cxzL&preST=_SY291_BO1,204,203,200_QL40_&dpSrc=srch) and await its arrival on my iPad...

Yes thats another good argument learned from a book.

    God's Not Dead

Do not listen to them but be a Berean and check out the other side and compare it to scripture. Comfort has written many books defending the use of the law in Evangelism. Not surprisingly many of the reformers and Puritans also used the law in their Evangelism. Compare to scripture.

    God's Not Dead

I never said they were. But they can be very helpful in witnessing. Apologetics the bait and the law the hook.

    God's Not Dead

No apologetics is the bait and the law the hook.

    God's Not Dead

Friendship Evangelism is not the key. Gods calling on the elect is the key. Yes of coarse we need to let our lives and mouths bring forth a witness to a Christ. However without a gospel presentation how are we any different than the Mormons who also live good lives? This is why it is so hard to...

    God's Not Dead

Skimming a book I read once just now I was able to find 2 apologetic arguments to defend the resurrection of Christ that will do nothing but get the skeptic to think. If Christ did not raise then explain how the 4000 pound stone was moved? If Christ did not raise and the disciples fabricated...

    God's Not Dead

So the atheist will then say, prove it! And then we get into apologetics arguments to defend the resurrection of Christ.
  17. evangelist6589

    God's Not Dead

The atheist will say “so what?” Plenty of Buddhist, and Mormons have changed lives so why is Christianity any different?
  18. evangelist6589

    God's Not Dead

Actually I do know because he said the other week he looks at 12-15 commentaries in preparation for each sermon!

    God's Not Dead

Well this is why there are lots and lots of other books out there to aide one in answering the objections of the skeptic. Personally when I witness to skeptics on the street I use nothing but the Bible, however this is not to say in a college classroom or other intellectual environment books...

    God's Not Dead

Not sure what kind of a pastor you are, but my pastor reads a dozen or more commentaries in preparation for each message and sees the value in books helping one to understand scripture.
