    Actuality vs Potentiality?

I disagree with the idea that God created men to just die lost. God created man and gave them ample opportunity to be saved. Its not cruel - God is not slack concerning His promise and desires all men to be saved. 2 Pet 3:9 This is then different - They saught their own lusts and rejected...

    Actuality vs Potentiality?

Because a god that only saves those who he wants and sends the rest to eternal conscience torment at his own whim is so great? merit system? When you recieve a gift of Christmas do you thank yourself for receiving the gift and opening it? This thread frightens me. The grand difference...

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

Keep in mind that the context of this passage is the OT - there is no physical Jesus yet. Only the promises of Yahweh ; Also my understanding of servant-hood would have been reliance on the master for everything. So I disagree with you that this is some how not attempting to bring people to God...

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

This is probably why im not an arminian either. There is an undeniable tension between a drawing and a reaction from man. We are bent in a sinful nature as we are born with a sinful nature. So I would say they denied God out of love for their own Sins, but the desire for all to be saved is...

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

Your evading the point ; Believers or unbelievers He's asking them to choose. He mentions the Flood after to tell them about what happened to those who weren't sided with the God of Israel . Consider it the early example of the law and gospel approach.

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

Going with this - he is still asking them to choose. He's asking them to choose what may appear to them to be the 50 cent piece. They have to decide. but as for Joshua and his house - they will serve the Lord.

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

There was no issue in how he presented the scripture. Havn't heard this before - (the reformed thing). I just know those particular set of videos were a good starting point.

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

This is just it right here. over complicating scripture in order to fit an agenda. He mentioned the Flood right after - letting them know what happened to those who didn't serve the God of Israel. The more I read Calvinistic arguments the further and further I want to distance it from...

    If you could please.

Hi guys/gals Today I was able to drag my Sister to church - its about ~20 mins each way so on the way there and back I talked to her about the Gospel and gave her the whole Law&Gospel presentation and told her why its so important etc etc. anyway. If you could pray for her. My sisters...

    What's Your Favorite Hymn/Song....and Why?

Stricken, Smitten, and Afflicted. Stricken, smitten, and afflicted, See him dying on the tree! This is Christ, by man rejected; Here, my soul, your Savior see. He’s the long expected prophet, David’s son, yet David’s Lord. Proofs I see sufficient of it: He’s the true and faithful Word...

Yes, however... my bias certainly shows as Im a little disappointed when it happens, just my ish. Lots yup I Cant speak too much into this, as im not well versed in a ton of other translations - However the big thing for me is the verses that are missing in a lot of other translations (ie...

    The Anabaptist Story

http://books.google.ca/books/about/The_Anabaptist_Story.html?id=BF8D09JSfzwC Reading through this book as I did Drive by church history by the gang over at Wretched Radio but they were a little slanted towards Calvinism and the Reformers - Being a Baptist I sought out our history and came...

erm.. ok :) They Reject God and Reject His gift of eternal life though His son Jesus Christ May I ask you - if your a Calvinist. Does God not desire all to be saved? If you agree with that, would you be willing to agree that your attributes of God and those attributes that are inferred...

Music (oh man its about to go down)

So to explain my struggle a little bit. I listen to probably the more extreme edge of metal. However, I agree to a large extent all of the things that a IFB church would agree on. Then I get to the music issue, and they quote drug addicts whos lyrics in their music are completely vile.. but...

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

2/2 Everyone goes through their own journey - you bet. Well.. I dont think we save ourselves... Again, we dont thank ourselves for opening the gift, we thank the gift giver. No one will ever be saved without the help and work of the Holy spirit I do agree with that - I cannot say however...

Is there really a conflict between Freedom and Sovereignty, if rightly defined?

1/2 I didn't try to imply that at all. I thought I was quite adamant that the person has to physically respond (back to my gift analogy. This also discredits the false notion that it is man centered) I disagree with this. As stated before even with the redefinitions (if I were to even...
