    Context of Acts 13:48

Who do you think the sheep nations are that are gathered in Matt 25:32? Where is the church in relation to this verse? When Christ said in Mt 16:18...upon this rock I will build my church (gather my people together) and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it," he included not only the...

    Context of Acts 13:48

Verse 9 of Ephesians 2 clarifies the meaning of verse 8 by contrasting faith with works. Not of works, lest any man should boast, is in contrast to the faith give us by Christ in verse 8. No doubt salvation is a gift but that is clearly not the interpretation of verse 8. Scripture must be...

    Context of Acts 13:48

Christ preached out of the Old Covenant bringing to light the promises and blessings proclaimed to those who saw it in a spiritual understanding of the NEW covenant.

Van- I agree ONLY in that God is never mistaken. The rest of your statement is blasphemous and very twisted.

    Context of Acts 13:48

I agree with our being under the influence of darkness before faith came. We were prisoners of sin. Yet our Father had set aside a people for the Lord who would be given the faith of Christ that we might be adopted sons in Christ. God is not the author of sin and has never been as I have...

    Context of Acts 13:48

Yes, only those given faith through the operation of grace can turn to him. I have plainly shown you Christ himself saying in Matt 13:10-11, "...but to them IT IS NOT GIVEN. " Faith, among other things, is what is given through the operation of grace. This is in agreement with Ephesians 2:8...

    Context of Acts 13:48

There is no question about the order in Romans 10. Not sure why you are bringing it up. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord (in spirit and truth John 4:24) shall be saved. The sons of Sceva called upon the name of the Lord and demons leaped on them. (Acts 19:13) Israel called upon...

    Context of Acts 13:48

Still don't see where you responded to post 63, 67. Please read post 69. I have already told you satan lost his free will when he rebelled against God in declaring he would be above the most high. Adam lost his free will when he voluntarily took of the fruit. Your point is twisted when you say...

    Context of Acts 13:48

I agree God is never mistaken but my main point concerning satan and fallen man that will never receive the grace of God is better explained by Christ telling the Jews in John 8:44, "Ye are of you father the devil and his works (not only fleshly but doctrinally) ye will do. All fallen man can...

    Context of Acts 13:48

There you go doing it again. I said that the bible is chocked full of prophesy, not all the bible is prophesy. No God is not responsible for wickedness. When satan decided to place himself above God, he sinned in his rebellion. He is the author of evil. He did not have a sinless nature and...

    Context of Acts 13:48

Let me clarify the statement where you knowingly twisted what I said. Why would God want to give grace to someone that he knows will not come to Christ? You say that there might be someone, a possibility, therefore an unknown, who would need it. If that is the case, then God did not know...

    Context of Acts 13:48

Trying to stay on point to the context of this particular OP. 2 Timothy 3:16 I will ask a few more questions of Silverhair and his colleagues. If it was preordained that the gentiles would be part of the kingdom, how could that future occurrence not have been a fixed matter? Who established...

    Context of Acts 13:48

I read the whole chapter before replying. In my first post, #11, I said, " Acts 13:48 is part of the fulfillment of OT prophesy/predestination of the gentiles being brought into the kingdom of God. The subject goes from verse 46 through verse 49 with the focus on verse 48 which details the...

    Context of Acts 13:48

The context as I understand it is the bringing in of the gentiles into the kingdom of God by ordination/will/predestination of the Father. This is related in that he declared the end from the beginning (prophesy) and therefore knew/determined that by which he would accomplish it. He did not...

Thanks for the contribution. I have been trying to keep my points isolated to the Father and his decrees/ordaining. Jeremiah 1:5

    Context of Acts 13:48

Both to DaveXR650 and Silverhair, There has to be a certain fixing of the future, otherwise prophesy, which is a fixed declaration of God, could not exist. The bible is, as they say, chocked full of prophesy. It is like the equation, as given by God.
