    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

Scripture says Jesus "had to be made like His brothers in every way" in order to be our high priest (Hebrews 2:7). Is that passage true or not?

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

That is the point of this thread. Did Jesus have the ability to sin or not? Everyone agrees with Scripture that He DID NOT sin; there is no question that Jesus lived a sinless life. The question is whether Jesus could have chosen to sin in His humanity. In my view the temptation by Satan in...

    Individual Election and Corporate Election

I have a large shelf full of Bibles here, posting long blocks of the text is not required. The reference to salvation you think is not seen "in the entire passage" is in the part you omitted, verses 1 and 2. Paul is writing "To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus."...

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

Jesus did not lie, and I am not lying. I never said Jesus lied. I don't believe Jesus lied; I believe He changed His mind, as I already explained. Changing one's mind is not a sin, so please relax. Changing one's mind is something humans do, and Jesus was fully human, yet of course without sin...

    Individual Election and Corporate Election

Here is what Ephesians 1 tells us (not just me) point blank: we are blessed with spiritual blessings in Him (v3) we are chosen in Him (v4) we are predestined to adoption in Him (v5) we are made acceptable in Him (v6) we are redeemed in Him (v7) we are gathered and unified in Him (v10) we are...

Could Jesus Do Things the Father and Holy Spirit could not do?

"More powerful" is an erroneous phrase. Jesus is not "more powerful" than the Father because He came to earth and was born and died as a man. Philippians 2 says Jesus "emptied Himself" of His equality with God to become human - less than, not more than, deity; less powerful, not more powerful...

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

In Mark 6:48 the Greek verb is θέλω (thélō, to will, to wish, to intend) in the imperfect tense: literally, "He was intending, wishing, purposing to pass them by." But then He didn't. Is Mark wrong?

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

From Mark chapter 6: 47 And when evening {even} was come, the boat {ship} was in the midst of the sea, and He alone on the land. 48 And He saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them. And about the fourth watch of the night He cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and...

    Or a Calvinist. ;)

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

Rock on, brother - don't let me hold you up. For those still following the topic, SBG calls it "heresy" to observe that Jesus chose not to sin. The Bible says Jesus has His own will independent of the Father's and that Jesus chose to fulfill the Father's will rather than His own (Luke 22:42...

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

Thanks, I don't need your permission for that. I think you are hoping to run the post count up in this thread so the inadequate biblical arguments and tacky personal attacks you posted will scroll safely away. No problem, we can always return for part IV of this discussion, hopefully with people...

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

You assume Satan had no chance of success in tempting Jesus. Read Daniel 10:13. Read Revelation 12:4.
  13. Tsalagi

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

I'm not inclined to take your word for that, since most of your arguments rely on personal attacks and SBG "emphasis" rather than a careful reading of the Word of God.

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

I fully agree. Why would Satan tempt the Lord Jesus for forty days if it was impossible for Him to yield to it, and why would the Holy Spirit lead Jesus into that situation if not to show the power of the Word and the Spirit to sustain us under pressure?

    Could Christ Have Sinned? III

My subject is Jesus, and the glory of His faith and obedience, living in the power of the Holy Spirit and the light of the Word of God, setting a perfect example in His earthly life for all of us. You've spent over half a dozen posts here talking about me. If you're more interested in me than...
