Must the church sanction every act of evangelism?

I don't know, Evan. You are by yourself in your church on matters of soteriology. You are even alone in the same matters in your marriage. While I do commend you for being faithful to your church regardless of the differences, what you are doing is ministry apart from the local church. I really...

    Christ Jesus / Jesus Christ

I heard a decent grammatical reason for the switch here: http://new-testament-greek.org/2012/04/09/jesus-christ-or-christ-jesus/ I am having trouble viewing the link, however. The site may be down. But it seems to be a reasonable explanation based more on the Greek article than a theological point.

Which is the rabbit board? FWIW, you seem to interact more over here than there.

Must the church sanction every act of evangelism?

So lone-ranger Christianity is a good thing??? How postmodern of you.

    What sends people to Hell?

I'd say God's wrath sends people to hell.

ASV 1901 in print? I got one.

What the??? What is a NASV? You have to be some kind of KJV guy that would call it that. New American Standard BIBLE!!!

Is it possible to be a Baptist...

That last sentence is awful. God's people need to be among God AND the people. To "just stay home" is not healthy. As to what you are... have you looked for various confessions that you may agree with? There are some good baptist confessions that you may end up liking it. I like TGC's...

    Free Will Baptists

So simple... and yet "how difficult it is to enter the Kingdom of God" Now let's see, who said that again???

    Free Will Baptists

Lol... cause I use Greek around you all the time, right?

    Free Will Baptists

How convenient... God will harden you once you initiate the process. But God forbid he take any part before hand.

    Free Will Baptists

Seriously... there is no more humor left here. I'm still befuddled by this rabbit thing.

    Festshrift for Maurice Robinson

I would love to get my hands on this... especially this article. Dr. Robinson's article is quite heavy and I struggled through it.

    I'm too dogmatic!

You interpret everything as either an attack on you or just people don't understand you or your church. I have plenty of experience in the setting you are in. Discussions with you are about fruitless as an apple tree in the middle of a desert. The problem is, I understand your situation better...

    I'm too dogmatic!

Your grammar could cause your statement to be taken a couple different ways. I'll suppose you didn't mean that when you do change church it has nothing to do with your wife's benefits. Instead, I'm guessing you meant that you similarly remain at a church that you don't like but your wife does...

    I'm too dogmatic!

I could care less about a BJU IFB church. I am beginning to feel less and less sorry for your plight. I'm trying to give you some advice, but now I feel like the one casting pearls before swine. Feel free to wallow in your church unable to serve. And while you're at it, keep letting your wife...

    I'm too dogmatic!

That's not my point. I wonder if he would rather be rid of you. At least if he knew your struggle w/ the church and your wife, do you think he would give you his blessing to look for other churches? That might help convince your wife to leave. Worth a shot.

    I'm too dogmatic!

What if you talked to you pastor and he agreed that you 2 would be better off somewhere else?
