    Individual Election and Corporate Election

May I cordially suggest you spend some time contemplating Lucifer and the third of the angelic hosts who followed him in sin.

    Individual Election and Corporate Election

Lazarus' resuscitation is in no way a picture of salvation, as even a cursory inspection of the context will reveal. I invite you to read John 11 again. Please explain how fallen and spiritually dead Adam was able to respond to God's call in the garden. THAT is a picture of response to saving...

    Individual Election and Corporate Election

Lazarus was a believer long before before he died, there is no basis for distorting his resuscitation into a picture of salvation. A better example is Adam in the garden after he sinned and partook of the forbidden fruit. When God called to fallen Adam, was he capable of a response? Yes. If your...

    Redemption

You said "Those whose faith God credits as righteousness are placed into Christ where we are saved, redeemed, forgiven, made alive, regenerated, and so forth." You cite Galatians 3:6 in support. That's demonstrably bogus, and you are clearly unable to defend it. Nowhere does Scripture claim...

    Redemption

He'll need to tell it to the apostle Paul.

    Redemption

I cited two chapters of Scripture in #34 to which no reply has been offered. Arguing that salvation faith is "credited" twists these passages to say something they do not say, much as was done to my words above.

    Redemption

"Defended" in my post becomes "challenged" in yours, twisting truth; no engagement with the scriptural argument.

    Individual Election and Corporate Election

Sorry, no. If we're creating caricatures out of whole cloth, here's a better one: a quadriplegic man is wheeled up to a table where there are two cups. God says, "One of these contains a lethal liquid and the other an elixir which will completely cure your paralysis and extend your life...

    Could Christ have sinned?

    Ezekiel 28:15, Genesis 1:31.
  10. Tsalagi

    Could Christ have sinned?

There are seven passages cited in my #122. There are none in your #142.

    Could Christ have sinned?

Ha ha. All reasoning is human logic, including the above. It would be nice to read posts that do not rely on constant use of second person pronouns. Try dealing with the argument without attacking the man.

    Could Christ have sinned?

I would still observe that it was not in the first Adam's nature to sin, nor was it in Lucifer's - unless you believe God built a propensity to sin into that which He declared perfect.

    Could Christ have sinned?

I am simply observing that the argument "Jesus could not have sinned because He was God" doesn't hold water. There are any number of things Jesus could do in His humanity that God does not do, and legitimately picking and choosing what Jesus could or could not do based on His inarguable divinity...

    Could Christ have sinned?

You said "it was also impossible that He would as sin was not in His nature." It's your argument to defend.

    Redemption

I have said nothing to challenge your view on election, with which I essentially agree. I am challenging your faulty support for that view. You fail to address the point of my post, which is your ripping of Scripture out of its context to support your claim. Right things can be defended in a...

    Could Christ have sinned?

Sin was not in Lucifer's nature, or in Eve's, or in Adam's. This did not prevent their choosing to disobey. The nature argument by itself is not persuasive.
  17. Tsalagi

    Could Christ have sinned?

Again, was Jesus God when he was hungry and thirsty, when He changed, grew, and learned? Can God be born and die?
  18. Tsalagi

    Could Christ have sinned?

Sorry, but there is a notable absence of Scriptural support for the conjecture that Jesus in heaven has lost His free will.
  19. Tsalagi

    Could Christ have sinned?

Paul says otherwise in Philippians 2.

    Redemption

You confuse the issue by defending your views with scriptures that do not actually teach what you claim. The faith God credits as righteousness is NOT saving faith. It is faith after salvation, expressed by those who are already believers. Read Genesis 15 again, read Galatians 3 again; neither...
