    A Non Elect Person Saved

You couldn't interpret the xoxo's of a kindergarten love-letter. So you can put your pope language in your inbox and blog it. By the way, glorification is the LAST step, what kind of educated "Preacher" such as yourself would put an "et cetera" after the last step:tonofbricks: You got your...

    What Does "All" Mean?

He loved the AGE??? You've GOT to be joking? If "God so loved the AGE" then that means nobody after whatever random age you think He meant expires is ever getting saved. ON the other hand, since Jesus said "I am with you to the end of the world" where aion was used, then we can just bootstrap...

    What Does "All" Mean?

NO, eon means age, kosmos means world. There are times when eon is translated world, but don't say "world=age" as if that's always what it means. Eon was used in Matthew 28:20, but ton kosmos was used in John 3:16

    What Does "All" Mean?

All is a representative of the Jews left standing after the tribulation. All still means all. It is not 'all' that needs to be interpreted, it is the effect that it has on interpreting the entire context as a whole. Paul is talking about the "finished product" not Israel throughout history. So...

    What Does "All" Mean?

    Is that ALL you got?

    What Does "All" Mean?

That's not ALL I "failed to mention". The price of gas is much cheaper here than it is in the US.

    What Does "All" Mean?

I believe the second one is an aWl. Now if that's ALL, I have some laundry to do :)

    What Does "All" Mean?

All means all, and that's all "all" means. The confusion among Calvies is when 'all' is used as an adverb, determiner, or quantifier. There are some passages where all refers to all that are available, but all still means all. When the Bible says love God with ALL your heart, it doesn't mean...

    A Non Elect Person Saved

I disagree that genetics was not a factor. It was not a salvific factor, but that was not the argument. That only becomes a contention if you view election as synonymous with salvation. Israels election based on their heritage was not the CAUSE of their salvation, but to the EXCLUSION of all...

    A Non Elect Person Saved

And yet Calvinism refers to THE elect. The fact that you acknowledge that elect has a plural function, including angels, shows that the Calvinistic presuppositional usage of this term is erroneous. You can not equivocate by using elect as a term for those you consider drawn to Christ in the NT...

    A Non Elect Person Saved

Thanks for the correction, it is plural However, I also spelled it with a capital "C" and you spelled it wrong both times. I also note that your own name does not have the proper capitalization. So if you are going to be petty and play grammar police, make sure you take the beam out of your...

    A Non Elect Person Saved

Just all the more evidence towards what I said. Remember, the argument was that a non elect person was blessed because of their faith. Hebrews 11 is called the Hall of Faith, not Hall of Elect. If the OT were not strict Jewish lineage, then you can't call them elect. You can't read Calvinist...

    A Non Elect Person Saved

Do you know what it meant to be called a dog in Jewish tradition? If not, look it up. Jesus wouldn't have called what you consider elect a dog. Jesus said, I came not but to the lost sheep of the HOUSE OF ISRAEL". Jesus response to her alone says that she wasn't part of the elect. It's...

    A Non Elect Person Saved

And that's a rebuttal? Someone needs to give back their ULC ordination and take that "Preacher" out of their name.

    A Non Elect Person Saved

I believe the contention of election among Calvinists and Non Calvinists is the failure to understand what election is and what it is not, and the differences in the different "elects" through out the Bible: Sorry for the teaser but I'm saving that explanation for another thread on Romans 9-11...

    free will vs. election???????

He posted it in a different thread under Hebrews 10:14. http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=86595 HOwever, doesn't explain how he reached the conclusion in that thread either. But the Greek structure of the sentence works against him, not for him.

A Statement from the Calvinism Advisory Committee

I think the entire book of Acts disagrees. Jesus said "GO". If God were to merely send people our way because they were divinely appointed, then we could just be a couch potato eating Twinkies. There is nothing wrong with awaiting opportunities and speaking up when possible, but when that is...

A Statement from the Calvinism Advisory Committee

This is EXACTLY the point that I have made in other threads that Calvinism discourages evangelism. This is a description of LIFESTYLE EVANGELISM not SOUL WINNING. As much as I have disagreed with EWF, his question about "beating the streets" is exactly the type of evangelism that Paul and others...

    Parable or not

*I* know what it means, I'm trying to see why HE thinks this is important as to whether or not it's a parable or not and why. But yes, you are right. :)

    Parable or not

Here's a simple question. Even if this was a parable (and it's not), what's your point? What do you think Jesus was trying to convey with this story? Even if it was a parable, Jesus didn't just tell parables for entertainment.
