    The value of books

I think he was greatly influenced by apocalyptic works whether canonical or not. That much is observed by many. But your point is taken.

Baptist Doctrine of the Resurrection of the Dead

The good ole BF&M... I like it because it is very inclusive of many eschatological views, including all the bad ones from dispensationalism ;) (good to be back and give a dig to my dispie brothers out there)

He's reformed but not a calvinist?

    The value of books

I would almost guarantee Paul read way more than the OT. Considering his pharisaic background, he was probably well rooted in the pseudepigrapha and other extant 2nd temple books of literature. He knew pagan sources as well (well enough to quote on the spot), so he was well versed in various...

    Congratulations Dr. Maurice Robinson!

Right for Dr. Black. I still lean against the pericope adulterea as authentic.

The Bible Is Clear: Adam Was a Historical Person

Saying that God neglected the style, penchant, and propensities of the writers as well as their background, upbringing, and theological heritage makes the Bible out to be some holy book that it never claims to be. The Bible, much like the hypostatic union of Jesus, is a mysterious thing. You...

The Bible Is Clear: Adam Was a Historical Person

To neglect the human element in Scripture is to miss what Scripture is. Be careful.

    Congratulations Dr. Maurice Robinson!

It's funny, b/c I still am not so convinced on certain textual matters like Dr. Black. But his influence on internal evidence has been pretty substantial for me. Internal evidence is corroborative but not probative. http://www.daveblackonline.com/synoptic_problem.htm

Textbook Misleading Many Seminary and Bible College Students

Mainly because I did not interpret these words: as an accusation and certainly not a diabolical one. Perhaps I was wrong. But gb#### did say "keep up the good work." I thought the tone was pleasant. Perhaps I was mistaken. However, people boasting of their service to Christ is futile. B/c...

The Bible Is Clear: Adam Was a Historical Person

The historical setting for most NT documents is not only attainable but very relevant to the genre of the documents. At least Paul's letters and maybe a couple of the gospels. Rev. of course. Also, the event of Jesus is a defining and salvific event. Therefore, the event matters, its historicity...

The Bible Is Clear: Adam Was a Historical Person

Just the opposite, actually. I don't squabble over the historicity of any event save Jesus and other NT texts (for various reasons). What I am most concerned about is the text. What is in the text is inspired. The events that the text speak of are not inspired. So I don't focus on what God may...

The Bible Is Clear: Adam Was a Historical Person

Let me nuance that. I'm not so concerned with what Paul and Moses believed about the historicity of Adam. I think they can write inspired Scripture and still be incorrect as to the historicity of what they are writing even though the theology of what they were saying was good. Jesus is a...

    Progressive Dispensationalism

Exactly! This is in part, based on biblical theology, I moved to Amill. An extra 1,000 year reign is needless and arbitrary when all the promises find their "yes" in Jesus.

How many books do you have?

I might have only 30 books w/ me here in Honduras. Maybe 40? My library back in the States is pathetically small. I'm ashamed, but I'm also poor so... This is why I love libraries!
