The desolate land of Israel becomes like the Garden of Eden

Yes, Paul tells us there is no difference in the Greek (Gentile) and the Jew. But when you see Zechariah 8:23 take place in the future during the 1000 year reign you will understand what I'm talking about. "Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall...

    Eucharistic Divinity

It's a matter of salvation, Cathode, I can't pull any punches. I hope you take this in that context, what I'm about to say. If you had been reading and studying your Bible as we Baptists do, I wouldn't have to point this out to you, you would already know it.

    Eucharistic Divinity

What did Paul say? "for you are saved by grace through faith, not of works lest any man should boast." I can't boast because the only thing that saved me was the grace He provided for through faith. Now what about you? Do you have something to boast about that you added to your faith. Let's...

    Eucharistic Divinity

No, you're to indoctrinated to understand. We don't perform the works we do to get saved or to stay saved, all the works were taken care of by Christ to provide Grace, something we don't deserve but He gave it to us anyway through the simple act of believing Him. We work because He gave us...

    Eucharistic Divinity

When you add those works to faith for salvation you are saying the finished work of Christ is not enough. That's when those works cancel out the Grace He worked so hard for us to have.

    Eucharistic Divinity

The RCC would have faired well under the Law of Moses with all those works. It's a shame they haven't realized all those works were fulfilled by Christ. He is the All in All, the only thing we can have our faith in, unless we want those works to cancel out the grace He provided.

    Eucharistic Divinity

That's why I'm a Protestant. I'm of the sort that believes salvation is all of the Lord's work.

    Eucharistic Divinity

You recognized that, right. We Baptists have some good opinions we match from Scripture. We like to study to show ourselves approved unto God, you know, that stuff Paul talks about.

    Eucharistic Divinity

Once in a while we Baptists sing a song called, "Nothing but the Blood of Jesus." I don't think they do that in the RCC.
  10. C

    Eucharistic Divinity

Yea, I know, a salvation of works. The RCC is renowned for it.

    Eucharistic Divinity

Well, please, let's don't talk about it again. We know the outcome, lol. I wouldn't pick on you if I didn't like you, Cathode. Despite our differences.

Pope Charlie likes his interpretation just fine.

    Eucharistic Divinity

Cathode, we good 'ol Baptist folks believe water baptism is a confession of what took place in the heart when we believed, the regeneration had already taken place when we were water baptized.

    Eucharistic Divinity

Well, Justin has some problems understanding works, being that he was depending on a man to perform a ceremony for him to be saved.

    Eucharistic Divinity

I don't really care what the Catholic fathers believed. But my first post was just picking with you, seeing we have had several conversations and can never agree. Just being a good Baptist, lol.

The desolate land of Israel becomes like the Garden of Eden

Well, you're doing what Paul told us Gentiles not to do thinking Israel has been broken off permanently. Paul would call that being "high-minded." A failure to recognize that the "olive tree" (the New Covenant in Christ's blood) is theirs and we are grafted in by faith.

The desolate land of Israel becomes like the Garden of Eden

Not sure exactly what you're looking for. But if it's about the olive tree branches? Paul is speaking to the Gentile Church. Rom. 11:17-25 "And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness...

    Eucharistic Divinity

I agree it's certainly not Baptist. The regeneration you speak of comes from the believing from the heart not water baptism. "for with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made into salvation." I see nothing about water baptism regeneration.

The desolate land of Israel becomes like the Garden of Eden

The Church is 99.9 % Gentile, we are the spiritual Israel through the faith of Abraham, but we are not the natural descendants of Abraham, Israel is. They are as Paul said the natural branches of the olive tree, the Church is the wild branches grafted in.

The desolate land of Israel becomes like the Garden of Eden

The Church is not cut out, they are spiritual Israel, the olive branches that were grafted into Israel's covenant with God. The covenant is not with the Church, it's with Israel.
