You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

I provided that scripture: Luke 11:42. But you refuse to discuss it. Is loving God a work?

Sin Essential to God's Purpose in Christ !

Did this guy really just indicate we should ignore context?....

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

It's almost 5:00pm where I'm at, on Christmas Eve; I'm gonna do my best to NOT be here for a day or two. Merry Christmas, all !!!

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

Is loving God a work? Answer this, and it will lead to whether there's a contradiction or not.

What is the Gift of Righteousness ?

You must understand my confusion. In your explanation of non-imputation of sin to the world, you referenced Psalm 32:2 and linked your discussion of the "world" to "man." Since you made that connection, when you wrote of imputation of righteousness, the natural conclusion was that you meant...

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

Okay, I pointed this out before, but I guess I need to point it out again: Luke 1142 But woe unto you, Pharisees! Matt 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Luke 11:42 for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, Matt 23:23 for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin...

What is the Gift of Righteousness ?

Dude, seriously. Not only did I read it, I summarized it and asked if I had correctly summarized it. So -- did I?

What is the Gift of Righteousness ?

So if the world has been reconciled, sin has not been imputed, and righteousness has been imputed unto the world -- everyone has a place in Heaven with God. Do I understand correctly?

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

And I do have to comment: did you really mean to say that belief in Jesus is the same as sinful works of the flesh?

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

Seriously? You accuse me of laziness? My simple question goes to the very heart of what you posted. Your final paragraph says that "if we say we are saved or justified because we had faith, then we are saying we are saved by our works, and it's impossible to escape that conclusion"; YET, that...

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

Please explain "for by grace are ye saved through faith."

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

I know you are, but what am I?

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

And thus lies the misunderstanding. No one has ever said that we are saved by our faith. We've only disagreed that faith is a work. We are saved by Christ's finished work on the cross. Our faith allows us to partake of that salvation. Not because our faith saves us; our belief/trust/faith is in...

What is the Gift of Righteousness ?

To me, easily explained by Eph 2:10 - we are saved unto good works, not because of them. This reconciles with James where we read that we show our faith by our works.

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

Luke 11:42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. This corresponding verse, based on the same conversation - in SBM's own words, "the apostles...

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

All you've done here is re-state that these verses don't say faith is not a work. You still haven't explained why "saved by faith, not of works" means that faith is a work. My conclusion at this point is that you've latched on to your own personal interpretation, and you *can't* explain the...

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

If the accusation is that I cannot read, then I must remark that English must be your second or third language. Both those verses most definitely say that faith is NOT a work. You cannot say "saved by faith, not of works"; and then try to say that faith is a work. You would have to say "saved...

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

Okay, now you're really muddying the waters. Both of the references I posted say "faith, not works"; but you're insisting they do NOT say "faith, not works." Please explain.

You may be teaching Justification by the Law !

I believe I just showed that they DO contradict what you're saying. How can Eph 2:8-9 say "saved...through faith; not of works" and faith still be considered a "work"? How can Rom 4:5 say "him that worketh not...his faith is counted for righteousness" and still faith be considered a work...
