    Navy removes Navity Scene

Somebody remind me to send some e-mails about how displays in February, March, May, September, and October are making me feel that one race is better than others, and that the organization is singularly promoting one race over another. In March, I want to point out that displays make me feel...

Phil Robertson Of Duck Dynasty made GLAD Very Mad!

Oh, I don't think they'll actually kowtow. I think they'll take all the free publicity they're getting, which draws people who support the Duck dudes to their channel to support Phil & Co by watching their show, where they also display the commercials for all the other shows A&E broadcasts...

MSNBC's idiotic plan: Minimum income for everyone

Wow. Just, wow. And how would this "mincome" determine prices of food, goods, automobiles, houses, etc.? Would the government then fall into the responsibility of price-regulating to ensure that "mincome" actually was a "living wage"? Dear God in Heaven, does she really NOT know that she just...

Slowly moving my wife towards Reformed Theology from IFB theology

Au contraire, mein freund. I haven't read anything by Van in months. I debated with Van in the past; once I saw that he refused to see any position other than his own, I deemed it a waste of time. The same reason I don't respond to anything about Skandelon or Winman. My arminian slant has led...

Slowly moving my wife towards Reformed Theology from IFB theology

Because I usually don't bother reading Van's posts. He's made up his mnd and refuses to budge; attempting to discuss with him only provides more venue for him to espouse his views. I should probably do the same with Evan.

Slowly moving my wife towards Reformed Theology from IFB theology

And the opening post *wasn't* an anti-arminian attack? Your use of the word "attack" might be a tad harsh, when you consider what Evan wrote in his opening post (i.e., combining "arminian teachings" with the words "anti-biblical").

    Yes.

    Christmas Challenge?

Nope. As was said in "Pirates of the Carribean": "more of a guideline than actual rules." And the next part, until Zaac decided to jump in with his Mr. Negativity routine, was to extend the challenge to once a month. But hey, us Obama-hatin' racists have got to stay in character and remain...

Intel Contractors Give Millions to Lawmakers Overseeing Government Surveillance

Sorry, poncho; the first thing that ran through my head was, "well, duh!"

Judge deals NSA defeat on bulk phone collection

CTB, you should try reading a little more closely: Your knee-jerk reaction, instead of reacting to what the judge actually stated, shows that you prefer to live in a state of fear; you are the epitome of "those willing to trade their freedom for security deserve neither and will lose both."

    Please pray for my step-father

Just received word he was hospitalized for double-pneumonia and kidney failure.

    Christmas Challenge?

Because we like irritating you? In all honesty, because we were singing a song in church yesterday morning, and I heard those words, and was inspired with the message I posted today. I apologize for not being inspired all the time.

    Facebook vs the church bulletin

Agree with everything everyone has said so far. If your church is going to think about communication, they need to have a communication (or marketing, or whatever you want to call it) plan. Bulletins handed out on Sunday mornings, and available at the door at the other services; announcements...

    Christmas Challenge?

Here's my challenge: On Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, tell someone "Peace on earth, good will to men." Feel free to add "Christ died for me and you." Then come back to this thread and tell us what happened. I know it's kind of silly. I'm curious to see how it turns out. If you're at all...

Megyn Kelly: Santa Claus and Jesus are White

And here we go, letting Zaac get us all worked up about a relative non-issue. Notice how he specifically brought up a race-based issue, obviously so he could have more fuel for his rants about how racist a lot of people on this board are. Just a suggestion: don't feed the trolls.

Why does God allow bad things to happen to his people?

One verse you might keep in mind: 2 Cor 1:4. I have often found this verse to be true. In 2000, I was diagnosed with a permanent condition. Some months later, someone I worked with found out her father had been diagnosed with the same condition. Because I knew the specifics about this...

Crypto Locker virus hijacks your computer, makes you pay $300 ransom:

From what I've read, the nasty part about Cryptolocker is that you'll need the encryption key to decrypt any of your files that it's locked down. So you can get rid of it, but you may not be able to get your data back. Another good reason to make back-ups, and keep them separate.

Lie of the Year: 'If you like your health care plan, you can keep it'

But--but--but it technically wasn't a lie. If you like your health plan, you can keep it. But you'll pay extra for it, or your doctor may no longer be included in it, or your local hospital may no longer accept it ... but you can keep it.... :tongue3:
